Circus Maximus: Chariot Wars on the PS2 is a game I return to time and time again, but I don't think it was very highly thought of when it was originally released. It's like Road Rash on chariots.
I also like the Dynasty Warriors games too

Re: Instances where games were remade/dual versions
I'm sure the Mega Drive had two versions of Klax and Marble Madness. For both there was a Japanese version and a US/European version. The US/Euro version of Klax was better than the Japanese version, but the Japanese version of Marble Madness was better than the US and European version.

"Wise fwom your gwave!" For featuring enemies with speech impediments, Mega Drive wins.

One game for me stands out - Golvellius for the Sega Master System.
Plus the Mega-CD had some loads of games with fantastic soundtracks.

Re: Yet another child killed
I don't understand why any responsible parent would allow their child to be left alone with an animal, whether it be a Staffie, Golden Retriever or Yorkshire Terrier. Or even a cat. Cats can be vicious little things when they want to be. Dogs and cats are animals, and although they may be domesticat...

The Terminator for the Mega CD is my choice. A great run and gunner with an amazing soundtrack that enhances the action and atmosphere even more.

Re: Why did Sega have to leave the hardware race?
For me, Sega got a little too arrogant. After going from the underdog in the Master System days and enjoying a change of fortunes with the Mega Drive, they began getting a bit too big for their boots, showing contempt for their customers, and later on, for their 3rd party developers. They released t...

Re: How Video Games Changed The World
Really enjoyed the show. Although it was a list of 25 games that changed the world, they managed to squeeze many other games in too. I can understand the omission of racing games, FIFA games and even Sonic the Hedgehog. They've all played a big part in shaping the videogame industry, but I don't thi...

Re: Greatest consoles of all time
5. Mega Drive - I'd hate to know the number of months of my life that I've spent playing on this console 4. PlayStation 3 - not retro, but it's the first console for many years that I've managed to devote considerable time to 3. Master System - introduced console gaming to me, taught me that I didn'...

Re: I've just reported Game to Trading Standards.
Sounds like Game is fairly typical of a lot of companies where an out-of-touch head office set targets for stores to meet, which causes managers to have to resort to iffy methods to achieve them. I've worked in a restaurant and for a mobile phone company previously, and some of the stuff people did ...

Re: Earthworm Jim
I had the Mega CD game originally and thought it was absolutely fantastic. Tried it out again a few days ago and got quite frustrated with it. Unless you've got the patience to learn the game and discover its quirks and secrets, it isn't really the kind of game that you can jump into for a quick bla...

Re: Anyone else find using emulators a bland soulless Exp
Through emulation, I've discovered many great games that I would probably never have played otherwise. But, as has already been said, the sheer quantity of games available does mean that it's all too easy to start a game, play it for five minutes, and go onto something else. When I had cartridge gam...

Re: Atari ST and Amiga Free games with magazines
Jeez, remember when CU Amiga(I think???) gave away Zombi as a covermount - being a 70s Dawn Of The Dead obsessive, it ended up being my most-played Amiga game, despite it being pretty much the same as the Speccy version!
I also picked up whichever magazine had the free copy...

Re: Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse
The Mega Drive version of Castle of Illusion is available for free on PlayStation Network if you pre-order the remake between now and its release in September. Apparently, you can download the MD version immediately, something to play while waiting for the new version.

Electron Invaders by Micro Power for the Acorn Election was a great clone. It was also the first computer game I went out and bought. Still highly playable today.
