Re: 10 years of Retro Gamer

Ten years, bloody hell! As has been said earlier in the thread, the early days are like a retro memory in themselves now! I still vividly remember seeing RG for the first time in WH Smiths and just being so happy to see the C64, Speccy etc on the newstands again. And the ZZAP! issue, with the specia...

Re: Future Publishing Closes Down Nintendo Gamer Magazine

Flippin' eck. How time flies. The machine I got after my C64 was a SNES, and I stuck with Future because I'd loved Commodore Format. Are those fantastic Super Play covers really twenty years old...wow.

Loved Super Play. Really great spirit and feel to the magazine.

Re: Issue 106 feedback thread

This is perhaps my favourite issue in a very long time. Andrew totally nailed the C64 piece. I loved the diferent boxouts around the article. Just like with the article on "controversial" games last month, it made it really easy and enjoyable to read. The Julian Rignall interview was most timely as ...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 105

The last few Retro Gamers really have been top drawer (the Ocean piece must be one of my fave ever). As for 105...really enjoyed it. The ST piece was interesting - a platform I never knew very much about and haven't used. The Super Soccer Retro Revival genuinely made me laugh. And I must add my prai...

Re: For the mag: Commodore 64 memories

No they don't. It is Retro Gamer and it is all produced on C64's and spectrums. I used to write my columns for Commodore Force and Commodore Format on my 64... Brilliant Andrew. And then just post them on to Future? I remember over at the Zzap! forums you were going to try and get Simon Forrester t...

Re: For the mag: Commodore 64 memories

I got a Commodore 64 in the summer of 1990. I think it was the World Cup Pack bundle. Adidas Soccer (urgh!) and Night Breed were included, but neither loaded properly. The cause? A dodgy C2N - the start of twenty odd years of datasette pain for me! Loved it, though. Still do. Very special machine th...

Re: Issue 89 Feedback thread

Wonderful to see Mayhem on a magazine cover after so many years.

Really looking forward to this issue. Cheers Darran. :D

"Debit" was Roger Frames' pet dog in his Commodore Format column.

Sheesh. Computer mags (RG aside) ain't what they used to be, eh?

Re: Commodore Format

Any chance of an in depth look at this mag - it was my all time favourite? It was my all-time favourite too. I came to the C64 late, and so missed the golden years of Zzap! 64. I got my '64 the month CF first hit the shelves (with that optimistic C64GS cover!) Would be great to find out more about ...

I'd be fascinated to see articles on ANY of the magazines above! I really love the idea of some in depth pieces on what was going on behind the scenes on the mags of the 80s....to me, they were as important a part of video game culture as the games themselves. The Zzap! stuff we've had in RG so far'...
