Re:

One other thing about the style sheet—can someone change it so that the links actually stand out? It's really bloody annoying that links are styled in EXACTLY the same way as body copy, so you can't differentiate the two. Is this text a link? Who knows? You won't until you mouse over it. If I was...

Re: Demo Groups

Not sure if this is something anyone else would be interested in, but could you guys do a feature on the old demo groups such as Red Sector, Delta Force etc? I would be interested in that. But don't think that the demoscene is dead - far from it. Even on retro platforms, the scene is alive and well...

A little niggle in the online subscription form...

I couldn't help but notice the Data Protection section at the end of the page at https://secure.widearea.co.uk/cisubs/IMAG/RET/WEB006 . You have to read it very carefully in order to notice that for the first three boxes, you have to tick them if you don't want to be contacted, but for the last thre...

Re:

but one thing I have always wondered, is on Matt Grays fabulous Last Ninja 2 soundtrack, the level 5 in game music at the time I seemed to recognise it from somewhere and I listened to it again tonight and it still reminds me of a proper music track, but cant work out where I have heard it. Does an...

I'll bite. I use Linux. Is it reversible? Yes, if you're careful. Linux (oh, okay, GNU/Linux) is an operating system, of course, which means that it can take Windows' place if you want it to. Of course, it sounds like you don't want to, so you need to make that clear to the installer when you do it....

The HVSC is a great collection. At some point I'm hoping that when ipodLinux supports 4G iPods that I can port libsidplay and have a small front-end, so I can dump my entire HVSC collection on there and have it play SIDs natively. That'd rule. A lot of the SIDs I do are actually covers of more recen...

Knightmare ruled. Awesome show, and I saw quite a few episodes again recently. They still haven't lost their magic.

Then, of course, there was Going Live, with Phillip Schofield and Gordon the Gopher, among other things. That was cool. :D

Good ol' SID (C64) music

Who here loves listening to SID music? I know I do. One thing I like doing is actually making new SID tunes. Yeah, it sounds weird that people actually still make new tunes for C64s, but we're definitely out there and alive and well. In fact, you may know me better if I say I'm part of a demoscene g...

Re: I'm ashamed of myself.

In the meantime you could check out www.retrosurvival.co.uk for your Retro Gamer-type CD shenanigans. Already did - look in my first post. :) If you weren't talking to me, sorry. :D You'd think that being a fan of Retro Gamer when it was published by Live, that I'd have been more aware about what w...

I'm ashamed of myself.

You'd think that being a fan of Retro Gamer when it was published by Live, that I'd have been more aware about what was going on than I was. I do make a point of looking for Retro Gamer when I go into WHSmith. But for some reason I can't explain, it didn't cross my mind that anything bad might have ...
