Re: What are you currently playing?

I created a Japanese account the other day to download the NES and SNES apps on Switch. They're cool just to look at the box art, but the NES one actually has some extra games on it including Famicom Wars, Fire Emblem, Yie Ar Kung Fu and a brilliant 1v1 fighter called (in English) Joy Mech Fight. It...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I've not had a go on the RG350M but I've used the earlier RG350 and it's a decent bit of kit. If you've ever seen a GCW Zero, that's also basically the same hardware. It's just been re-engineered to take away most of that machine's rough edges. Another almost identical machine is the PocketGo 2, so...

Re: From The Forum Issue 209

Alex Kidd in Miracle World is the only one I'd sit and play now if it was in front of me. I've not played all of them, but used to love this one as a kid myself. It was one of the only games my dad would actually sit and play with me, and I even caught him playing it on his own once or twice! I rece...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Anyone had a chance to try one of these? https://retrododo.com/rg350m/ I currently use my Vita for handheld emulation, but it would be nice to have a dedicated machine, and well, it's another new gadget isn't it. Seems to have had decent reviews but wondered if anyone had any first hand experi...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Sunset Riders- FINALLY saw its first rerelease since the SNES/MD ports on Switch and PS4. Been waiting a long time to be reunited with this game and can happily say, it still holds up. Oh and the first 3 Seasons of Walking Dead were £3-ish on Switch so nabbed those too. I'd been checking news liter...

Re: How to make new ROM file

This is clearly some sort of spam. The OP calls himself Good Luck, and claims to have been trying to make a Good Luck MAME rom from his original copy of the game, which he clearly doesn't own. If someone is tech savvy enough to rip a rom out of an arcade board, there is literally no way he cannot al...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Ah cool, didn't realise there was a demo, but yeah there it was, I've downloaded it to have a try. Trouble with demos though is there have been plenty of games I've ended up loving after not really liking the demo, but I guess at least you get an idea. Thanks :)

Re: Buying CD's

It came with a great CD last month, a whole album of Nick Cave covers. As for buying a CD, I never buy them any more. I can't remember the last one I bought, but the last one I was given as a gift was a few years back and was either Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 'Skeleton Tree' or Faith No More's last a...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I've bought too many Switch games I've not even started yet to even be contemplating this, but I'm looking at Ori and the Blind Forest on the eShop for a tenner... Anyone played it? Thoughts? I generally really like good platform/MetroidVania games, so it seems a good fit.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Haha. The first two games I played when the SNES library came to the Switch were A Link To The Past and Super Metroid. I'd never played either of them back in the day, and only ever had quick goes playing them on emulators over the years. I ended up completing them both on Switch and loved them, but...

Re: Screenshot challenge.

Galactic Plague?

EDIT: No, it's missing the side bar and I'm sure that was CPC only, thinking about it?

Re: What are you currently playing?

EDIT: Also playing Yoshis Island:SMW 2 on the Switch SNES online app, I've made it to the 6th and final world. It's...ok. There's a few levels that stand out to me but overall I'm not overly impressed with it./Unpopular opinion? Hmm. I remember loving it on the SNES when it first came out, but also...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm currently playing a lot of Panel De Pon on the Switch SNES library. I watched a translation video of the menus and realised there was a lot more to it than first appeared. I'm just past halfway through the campaign and it's got tough as nails! Great game, though. I also grabbed Days Gone dirt c...

Re: Questions for Tony 'Daley Thompson' Pomfret

Did you ever get to meet Roland Rat, and if so was he as difficult to work with as the rumours suggest?
