Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
New video is up! This time, it's a look at RIDGE RACER 64 on the Nintendo 64.Or, to give it its correct title: RIIIIIIDGE RAAAACER! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D_CpoSzWkAAB8ic?format=jpg&name=small You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/N-SWLsI11JI Actually had a fun little experiment with YouTube'...

Re: TheC64!
You mean a 'fully functional' C64 type computer right? Obviously, it's missing all the original ports and stuff. with two USB ports, an HDMI and a keyboard, which I like you am very curious to see how the build quality is too. Apparently, this version comes with a fully micro-switched joystick, whi...

Re: TheC64!
It's not being marketed as a fully functional computer. Might be worth clarifying here: when I say the C64 is marketed as a fully functional computer, that's clearly my take on it. Basically because of the inclusion of a full keyboard. Mostly, what I'm worried about is the build quality of the case...

Re: TheC64!
I'm actually a *tiny* bit concerned about this. I mean, I WANT it, don't get me wrong - a full size replica C64 with modern conveniences like USB is hard to say no to. But for the price, I actually wonder how good it'll be. £110.00 seems awfully cheap for what's being marketed as a fully functional ...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
But, to prove that it's not all doom and gloom, here's another video! Never let it be said that my show exclusively features retro games. This time, I take a look at the Nintendo Switch version of the indie title REFUNCT. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D9rFJ2xWkAIfo1s.jpg Direct link to indie shenaniga...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
Cool channel! Glad you're liking it so far! However, it's worth flagging this up: The channel's having a bit of a tough time at the moment. It's getting some GLORIOUS praise from the right people, and gaining subscribers at a slow but steady rate (currently at 606) but new videos struggle to reach ...

Re: Turbografx Mini/PC Engine Mini
I'm really interested in seeing how this particular machine does over here. Unlike most of the plug and play retro consoles so far, it doesn't have the same organic nostalgia base due to the fact that the original console wasn't widely available. But it does have a reputation amongst enthusiasts as...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
My latest review is up, and in it I take a look at Naxat Soft's 1988 pinball extravaganza ALIEN CRUSH. Which visually pays more than a little homage to the Alien movies. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D8OtRQsXkAILJqk.jpg I still say they missed a trick by not doing a sequel and calling it 'James Camero...

Hey - they had to get their mileage out of that one somehow!NickThorpe wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 9:40 amI just hope they don't do what they always used to do on the Mega Games compilations, which was shoving World Cup Italia 90 (or Sega Soccer, later) in at every opportunity.

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
Had a real struggle getting the latest review together, but it's finally up on YouTube- and age restricted to boot, as the content for this one gets a bit heavy. This time, I look at Kaos Studios' HOMEFRONT - a first person shooter that's often remembered as being little better than mediocre. Howeve...

I'm back with another video this week! Taking a look at another incarnation of R-Type this time - specifically the Sega Master System version. Check out the handsome devil in this thumbnail: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D5feI5yXoAAseq0.jpg Here's a direct link to the review: https://youtu.be/qQPixUG1...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
Despite technology, work, and a billion other factors doing their damnedest to stop me, I've uploaded another video today. In this one, I take a look at the Atari 2600 version of JAWBREAKER, which differs quite a bit from the version of it that graced the Apple II and Atari 8 bit home computers (and...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show
This week's video is live. And in it, I tackle my first review of a PC Engine game. It's Data East's OVERRIDE. And it's just a little bit different to your standard up-the-screen shooter. Want to know how? Well you'll have to watch the video! Only then can I bathe in sweet, sweet YouTube money and f...
