Re: PS2 + Component Cables + HDMI + Wall Mounted LCD = Help!

My TV doesn't do a great job of upscaling: it simply seems to stretch the image and leaves a slightly larger border on the right. The 720p/1080p upscaling seems like a good idea.

Luckily I already have a spare HDMI cable ^^

Might have to ask my dad about buying this, it'll be nice :3

Super Monkey Ball on Gamecube.

2 was good but the purity of the original's levels is better. Also the original's mini games are better.

Subsequent games have added jumping and sullied its purity.
^-^
I remember that game when I was around 5 or 6!!

They already have in this month's issue believe it or not.
Well, sonic on master system anyway. And yes, I preferred it to the mega-drive version but the sequels sucked.
I haven't picked it up yet :(
might ask to get it later lol

Re: From The Forum 181_: Favourite Street Fighter game

I see your point about the controller - though the SNES pad just seemed to work :) Yes I'm from Ashford in Kent. Most of my arcade experiences were in Folkestone at the old Rotunda park before they shut it down. Such a shame, was great and I'd love to be able to take my kids there now :) SFII on th...

PS2 + Component Cables + HDMI + Wall Mounted LCD = Help!

I know, a long and annoying thread title. And most of you probably consider the PS2 not to be retro anyway, while I consider it the last good generation of gaming (before DLCs and such plagued games and consoles became more and more irrelevant after around 2007 - thanks Windows Vista and your ridicu...

Its about time really, they havent won tons the last decade, havent won the league or that. Shame as i think he was a great manager but i do think its time. Got fond memories of Arsene as i hate Man utd so quite a few years i was happy as hell when they beat Utd and won the league. That invincible ...

Re: PlayStation game banned

I live in east Kent. Specifically, Margate. ^-^ I remember buying a PSP-3003 specifically for retro gaming, an excellent little machine for that purpose! Unfortunately I dropped it down the stairs... :( Yea, I wouldn't buy a switch but I'm glad it's showing kinda the right direction for the company ...

Re: 35th anniversary of some memorable films

Michael Jackson's album Thriller also came out in the closing weeks of 1982. The more you know.

In general the whole 80s-90s era of music, films, games and TV were just amazing ^^

Re: Discuss: Spectrum vs Amstrad Gaming

Give me playability anyday over a few more colours. Thats one reason why i still love Atari VCS games or other older games (Gameboy etc). Its like kids of today playing Pacman or other arcade hits and saying theyre rubbish as the graphics are poor. Its all about gameplay. Theres been threads before...

Re: Introduce yourself

Well I sometimes plug in a pair of external stereo speakers (Sony) through the headphone jack, they make it sound good, my LCD has two speakers on the back left and right as far as I know. ^^

I might also soon (after exams) start coming on after school time ^^

Re: From The Forum 181_: Favourite Street Fighter game

I have to say the C64 version was absolutely shocking. I had moved on to an Amiga by then, and that version was acceptable even with odd controls. But the C64 version - well, they shouldn't have bothered imo. I tried to play it a while back and it's just a mess. The C64 had plenty of great fighting...

Re: PlayStation game banned

@psj3809 The Speccy was AMAZING for most people over here, I never had a home computer from the time even though I live in the UK and it was really prominent here - my dad, unlike most people, preferred consoles. (Because loading times were better than cassete tapes, I assume). Well, my thoughts on ...
