Re: Renting videotapes
God, I miss the video-store. As a kid my best friend Andrew and I used to sneak into the off-limits adults section of the video-store complete with sliding curtain for privacy. We would often get a good 20 minutes perv on the backs of the tape covers before being chased out of the store. No matter ...

Re: Your Recent 'Other' Purchases
The most remarkable thing about that picture wasn't the presence of your hand but rather the Vectrex and that distinguished gentleman Pac Man:) Still, i must see your eyes, the real window to who you are;)))) I love the Vectrex. Got my first one many years ago, I swapped a meat sandwich & a few cig...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'll be getting a Switch regardless, maybe a pair so that we don't have to share. Seems like what I've always wanted - a massive handheld/gaming tablet/console hybrid. It's too bad that the 'wii u' controller can't be utilized in a similar fashion. (A friend of mine snidely refers to it as th...

Re: Reasons to get a PS3
Friend just texted me and reckons that Sony unveiled HD versions of Ico/Shadows on E3. I never played Ico and did everything on Shadows got the mask and whistling arrows from the time trails. My grip and health bars where off the screen on the PS2 never managed this on PS3. Be all over this. Not pl...

Re: Your Recent 'Other' Purchases
Found this poor soul last weekend....(we hit the Goodwills, fleas, and yard sales on a weekly circuit)....she is in desperate need of some TCL, so we'll see how the clean up goes...

Re: Reasons to get a PS3
We finally broke down (it was time) and grabbed one around Christmas. For 30-40 years I've stayed a generation behind the curve for various reasons, it's always served me well. We've been gathering the hits at a decent clip, as well....trying to build a 'best of' before really settling into any seri...

Re: Renting videotapes
It was a great joy of my youth & teen years. Friday night we'ed fly off the school bus, and straight to Doc's Video. Horror classics, schlockers, raunchy comedies, etc.....goooood times. Add in some junk food and maybe a bit of beer/wine/grass, and the weekend was made!

Re: Grenfell Tower, London fire.
There is currently a 'go fund me' set up for those that wish to give. Currently at 23,000 pounds out of a 50,000 goal. Cash is king, of course, but it's just a shame that I'm so far away; I've got plenty of spare clothing/blankets/dry goods/toiletries/tinned foods/bottled water/etc. A terrible trage...

Re: Retron 77
Eh, they look fine. Wondering how they are able to mimic those designs (2600 & NES) so closely and not catch a cease & desist letter, though.
I've got a couple of the 'Retrons' around here somewhere. Also a small silver one called (I believe) 'Yobo'.

Re: Grenfell Tower, London fire.
"Stay put policy" - ? People were previously instructed to remain in their homes, in the FIRE?! "When in doubt get out" Usually what is always told when theres a fire, Same here, along with 'crawl below the smoke' and 'stop, drop, & roll' should you find yourself on fire. Also, it seems that every ...

Re: Grenfell Tower, London fire.
Terrible. " Some residents said no fire alarms or sprinklers went off when the fire started.[1][18] Residents said they were alerted to the fire only by people screaming for help or knocks on the door and not by a fire alarm.[18] Others reported that they survived by ignoring the council's "st...

Re: Introduce yourself
I envy you!! I stick to mainly emulation for older consoles like the megadrive. One day I want to collect snes games though as I never had one growing up.... I avidly collected for many years, beginning in the late 70s. At one point (in my early 30s) I had several rooms filled with stuff as well as...

Re: Introduce yourself
Its funny you know. Back to when Retro gamer first started, it was the playstation 2 and xbox's time to shine and now with the latest issues of the magazine, they are well considered retro now. A lot happens in 12 years..... Time marches on, yep. The PS2 is a fantastic machine with a stellar ...
