Re: Collecting ideas

Advice? Don't 'collect'. Especially don't collect on a theme of any sort, as inevitably you end up buying bad games to fill the gaps. Buy games you know you will replay if you had them before, or that you want to play or are curious about. Sell on any that you won't replay or don't particularly like...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 193

I thought someone else had taken over the project. Oh well, maybe someday it'll fly.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 193

What's that about the book? I thought it was still (slowly) happening.

Re: Dolphin Bar

The Wii bar doesn't pick up controller movement. It's no more than a couple of LEDs, powered from the Wii. There are battery operated ones with no connection to the Wii. You can even go retro, and stick a couple of candles over the telly and that will work. The Wiimote reads the position of the sens...

Re: The Google Stadia

All users who made purchases are getting a refund, so not a total loss there.

It was always pretty easy in the past to strip DRM from ebooks too, I used to do it all the time to read them on incompatible devices, with the DRM stripped they're easy to convert to other formats.

Re: Paid for 'free gifts'

I'll tell you what Senzer. PM me your paypal address and I'll give you the quid back.

UK subs are just fine, thanks very much. There are very few problems, and UK complaints have been rare recently. Overseas subs are another matter...

Re: The Google Stadia

You do know. You pay a month's sub, you play for a month. Ok, you might get the odd one pulled part way through, but I'd assume just as with Netflix that there'd be some indication that things were in their final period. Don't think of it as long term, think of the service as immediate, what you wan...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

I've got as far as Beyond the Aquila Rift, that was pretty good. The series is definitely worth a watch, since most episodes are good with only a couple leaving me a bit flat, but since they're all only 10-20 minute episodes it isn't any great put out if you hit one that doesn't work for you. I hope...

He's been a member here for 5 years. He's made 5 posts. 4 of them are moaning about stuff (ok, maybe three and a half, he did get in a valid contribution with a moan).

Re: The Google Stadia

I just don't like the idea of games as a service. I pay for a game, I should be able to play it whenever I want. Even when you went to Blockbuster (other game rental services may have been available) and rented it? This is what I keep thinking. We're locked onto the idea of paying for a game, rathe...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Balanced good vs shovelware? That's no balance at all. What you want is good, with no shovelware. Any more than the occasional accidental one slipping through the net really isn't good for anyone.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Does Robocod still include Penguin biscuits? No, I read in a review they pulled the licensed stuff. I know I like Robocod, I have it for my ST. I just don't like it £10 much when I've so much else to play on Switch already. Its a good game, better than a lot of the indie dross that clogs up the esh...
