Re: What was the final word in Lunar Lander games?

I would guess there are Android/iOS games which take advantage of a phone's gravitometer to control the spacecraft by turning the phone itself?

Game Recommendations: MacIntosh

I looked for this in the sticky thread with game recommendations for any system, but didn't find such discussion, only a thread on Apple computers but not the MAC line... I realize this is definitely not among the most common retrogaming option :) So what would be some good and famous games you woul...

Re: The Google Stadia

I think this can be potentially a game-changer like Netflix or Spotify. Obviously, music CDs and movie DVDs/BlueRays didn't cease to exist because of streaming services, those are still very much available for people who want them, but streaming music and movies DID shift their markets big time. Per...

Re: Recommended games for 3 or more simultaneous local players

Warlords on Atari VCS or arcade is up to 4 players. With all 4, it gets very competitive. Great, great game, though it may not appear so until you play it. Since the paddle controllers come wired 2 to a plug, its even a default option with no multitap needed. I have heard about Warlords but we have...

Re: Recommended games for 3 or more simultaneous local players

Just to be clearer, by "local" players I mean all of them playing at the same machine, so WLAN games don't count :)

Recommended games for 3 or more simultaneous local players

Which games for any system would you recommend, that allow for more than 2 local players simultaneously? I don't think there are that many :) Among coin-ops, I remember only old top-view racing games such as Sprint 4, Sprint 8, Ivan Stewart's Off Road and (maybe) Badlands. Did Golden Axe support 3 p...

Re: What Are Your Favourite C64 Games?

Tossing in my suggestions as well... these are not what I would consider the 'best' games from a technical point of view, but rather those with which I personally had the best sheer fun! It means high (re)playability even if graphics & sound might discourage you :) Agent USA Boulder Dash Boulder Das...

Minor or lesser known Arcade Coin-Ops you really liked

Do you have some favourite old arcade coin-ops that aren't widely known or at least don't get usually mentioned? Personally I really like the following little-known games: Guzzler Joyful Ride Empire City: 1931 Halley Comet '87 I'd also toss in Burnin' Rubber and Psychic 5 but perhaps those are more ...

a good game is a good game however old it is.
Amen! Said by someone who still plays Atari 2600 :D And if the same can be said about books, music and movies, why not games?

Re: Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

I'm guessing that instead of a screen a plain white wall would suffice... :D Yes it does :) it doesn't even matter the colour, white or any shade of grey will work. Light non-white colors might also work but you'll need to tinker with the projector settings to compensate the hue. Our Ikea blind is ...

Re: Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

The one thing I struggle with on a projector is rainbow effect. So no single chip DLP projector for me. That is often brought up, so it is something worth being aware about. However it is quite difficult to know how much rainbow effect a projector has before buying, because the perception of the ef...

Re: Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

Thanks i'll take a look. I wanted to watch lots of my shows/films from Plex so i presume i'll just put my laptop in that room, doesnt have HDMI which is a pain. Many projectors still have a VGA input so I don't think you'd have much problems, and you'll get a 1080p resolution anyway (I assume you w...

Re: Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

I play my Retron 5 on my home cinema projector, got a 120" electric screen and DLP Home Cinema projector, playing retro games on it is awesome Is that 'easy' to set up ? Had a look on amazon, so what do you need ? Obviously the big screen, the projector itself. Then what ? Do you connect it to a la...
