NOTE: I'm basically suggesting that Retro Gamer should do a feature on the potentially ground-breaking handheld first-person shooter that never happened. So, there exists a prototype for what was a potential first-person shooter on the Atari Lynx. And I'm not talking about a horribly sluggish game ...
Most people I've spoken to who played it didn't really like it all that much. Of course it pales in comparison to racing titles that came out in that era like Mario Kart 64 and Crash Team Racing but it's a fun game in its own right.The Laird wrote:I always thought Sonic R was highly regarded. Probably the PS1. It was the console I grew up with and would play for hours and hours on end as a kid. Spider-Man, Gex, Speed Freaks, Point Blank, etc. were my top favourites for it back then.
Sonic R. Yes, the gameplay is sort of sluggish and mediocre at best while the soundtrack is, well, the epitome of 90's cheese, but I could dig it. I have owned and played both the PC and Sega Saturn versions in the past.
