Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Went there Saturday and WOW absolutely amazing could have done with more time but it was a 4 hour drive. So many original cabs that I had gave up on ever expecting to see or play again.. Mostly on Midnight Resistance, Hunchback, Gorf, Out Run hydrolic and Chase HQ, almost 1cc'ed Hunchback extra lev...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Super Don Quoxite - that brings back memories. Tbh not seen any laserdisc on my visits to the arcade, a shame as I reckon titles like Space Ace, Dragons Lair etc would get plenty of play. We have Dragons lair 1 & 2 and Space Ace - they will be in the Arcade at some point this year, we're currently ...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Do you have Legionnaires, Starblade, Super Don Quoxite or Big Fight in the Atlantic Ocean on either floor? Be visiting in 2 weeks and would be all over those games.. No, apart from Starblade (which if one came up i'd probably buy) you are the first person in thousands to ask for these games.. :) Andy

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

As for floor 2, there wasn't enough there to warrant the extra over for me, but if you like multi PC gaming it's probably worth it. But it was also a lot quieter and chilled, so defo some good points. Just think theres maybe room for some bigger cabs - maybe a Space Harrier or R360. Having said tha...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

The one criticism I made of the old place was the collective noise of so many machines close together: you simply couldn't hear the games you were playing. That's a real pity for machines like Out Run and Paperboy. What's it like in the new place soundwise? Hi Spector, It is an unfortunate effect o...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Got myself an 'Atic Atac' 3d sculpture on my last visit. Rally cool, unique item (as in they'll all hand made so slightly different) and a snip for £20. One thing I did realise and (gasp!) Star Wars 'sit down' cab is not as great as I remember. Yes it's cool to play with the original controller and...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Managed to get there today, and wow - it's as fantastic as others have said. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a well thought out layout. As has been mentioned, the lighting , the atmosphere, the sounds - just like an arcade from the 80s. The only machine I'd like to have seen was Battlezone, ...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

That's excellent news about Ketsui. All I'd need then are Elevator Action Returns and an Area 51 cab together with Ketsui and Star Wars Trilogy Arcade and I'd have my 4 favourite arcade games there! You'd have to forcibly evict me every night  We have Area 51 and Maximum force in storage - the...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Spent the day here yesterday (travelled all the way from Wales) and it was really brilliant. There were a great selection of games (although I noticed I'd seen a few of the games at Play Expo before, I found out I have a new high score to beat on Star Wars Trilogy Arcade) and it was great to see a ...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

...and we did! I just want to add to the compliments in this thread; it's truly amazing. Even when it's busy, there are still plenty of machines to play on. I got to play on many of the machines that I'd previously not been able to at the Replay events, and because there are so many machines at Arc...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

The arcade club has to change it's logo from a black pacman to a joystick because of Namco scape in the trafford centre was going to make a big fuss about it! Really? we've changed the logo so it has a wider range than just representing 'Retro' games, we're moving the club into much wider areas thi...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

I would strongly recommend anyone who's thinking about visiting the arcade club to just go, it is an incredible place. A really good choice of cabs, lovely friendly people & an absolute bargain at a tenner. With everything on freeplay & the refreshments dirt cheap, that's got to have been the cheap...
