Re: So what is your best FPS then?

by samhain81 on Sun Oct 05, 2014 12:09 pm Single Player - Star Trek Elite Force or Soldier of Fortune PC Multiplayer - Quake 3 Arena/Rocket Arena 3 I forgot about Elite Force, such a cool single player game. I used to love wandering around the ship between missions, talking to the crew. The weapons...

Re: So what is your best FPS then?

Single player: System Shock 2, Half Life 2 Multiplayer: Perfect Dark Online: Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament Ill give CoD4 an honorable mention, the online multiplayer was amazing. Perfect maps, perfect leveling and the TrueRank servers filtered out all the P90 wielding Juggernoobs. I'm sure they'...

Re: Conker: Live & Reloaded

I have both (bought 64 version for $5 in about '03-'04), and while the XBox version is far superior in many ways (and it still looks gorgeous today) it sadly leaves out the multiplayer for a more "hardcore" online class based multiplayer, kinda like Battlefield. It's fun for a bit (and ChapterX does...

Re: The N64 Controller: My Experiences.

I've lubricated my own controllers to great success. Using "white lithium grease", which can be bought from any good hardware store. Just check with an attendant that your brand is plastic friendly. There's a great guide here: http://codebook.potchgult.com/stickrepair/stickfix.htm which goes through...

Re: The N64 Controller: My Experiences.

3rd Party N64 controllers Usually shipped from Hong Kong, ranging anywhere from $10-$30 (I paid $22), these controllers look identical to an official controller apart from the absence of the Nintendo logo, and a few other very small cosmetic differences. From a few metres away, it's quite hard to sp...

Re: The N64 Controller: My Experiences.

------------------------------ Basically, all the problems with this joystick stem from the large deadzone/limited range. The stick is also quite a bit firmer, requiring more force to move, and it almost feels as though it's grinding. This product also feels slightly too big, the Z-trigger loses all...

Re: The N64 Controller: My Experiences.

RepairBox N64 Replacement Joystick: Can be found on most online stores (eBay, Amazon), and a lot of video game repair shops stock them. Usually about $10-12 plus postage. I paid $12 + $6. The RepairBox replacement joystick *looks* pretty much identical to the original with a few exceptions: - There ...

The N64 Controller: My Experiences.

Ah, the N64 controller. The trident. When the 64 hit in '96, the thumbstick was hailed as one of the greatest innovations in gaming, proving (with help from titles like Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie) that the mini joystick was the way to go for 3D games. However, the stick had one fatal flaw: the plast...
