ZX32 was a great emulator 15 years ago. Bit old now though

Re: Spectrum Emulator

I tend to go between Spectaculator and SpecEmu these days, but the best thing to do is try a few and see which you like the best. Some more links for you (note I haven't tested any of these on Windows 10) Fuse EightyOne (this has ZX80/81 support too, hence the name) SpecEmu - the latest version that...

Re: PLAY Margate, 21-23 August, Winter Gardens.

Bump - I'm going this year with my son and his friend in tow. We (my son and I) had a great time last year and it wasn't too busy that we couldn't find something to play on for the whole 8 hours we were there... although my son soon lost interest in Manic Miner, Head Over Heels and Bomb Jack. Philis...

Hi, introducing myself again as I've started posting here more often (sick of bloody facebook, for one thing).

I'm still leespoons and I still like old games.

Another vote for Star Force. Always loved the music on the first level of Nemesis (Gradius) Any of the themes from Out Run (I always forget which one's which) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (wasn't this the first stereo soundtrack?) Ghosts 'n' Goblins - DA DA DUMMMM DA DUM DUM DUM DA DUM DU-DU...

Re: EU in or out? Today's THE day

I voted in. I see no positives in leaving, but I think both campaigns have been pretty poor. Agreed. Cameron certainly hasn't helped Remain, but the Leave campaign failed to convince me they could come up with anything better than what we already have. It was tempting to draw a large willy on the v...

Hope it works for you! That reminds me, there's a working C64 somewhere at my mother-in-law's house - or at least it was working 10 or so years ago. Must dig it out again. Just a shame the only two games I could find were Ghostbusters and The Dark Tower

Re: Introduce yourself

Hello, I'm leespoons and I like old games. I had a Speccy+ from 1985-89 so that's my first love, along with old arcade games. I also make tunes for the Speccy beeper every now and then. Currently playing Life of Pixel and through that I'm starting to get curious about some of the other machines fro...

Re: NEW ZX SPECTRUM cassette game release SHAPESHIFTER

Nice one! The demo had a very good response on the WoS forums - nice to see it out, I will be buying it even though I don't currently own a Speccy :D

(have to declare an interest here, I wrote the 48k beeper tunes for this :) )

Re: The Weirdest games of all time

Fat Worm Blows A Sparky for the Speccy, I've played it on and off since 1986 and still have no idea what it's all about. Cubivore on the Gamecube, mainly for the line "One of my meat flaps turned blue". :P http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Film/Pix/pictures/2010/8/19/1282209967923/Finbarr-Saunders...

Re: New retro game - Life of Pixel

It's $2 via their website and humblebundle, which works out at £1.27 (at least it was a few days ago)... I was flicking through the leaderboards yesterday and surprised to be one of only a handful of players to have completed some of the levels! Although admittedly some of them are bloody hard... on...

Re: When Rap Was Great!

But i liked the swearing NWA rap music, i loved the 'hippy' type stuff by De La Soul, liked Public Enemy a lot (didnt give a monkeys about any political stuff they rapped about though). I mean i was a 14 year old growing up in Berkshire, i couldnt relate to what they were rapping about or the probl...

Re: Casio VL1 or similar keyboards

Never had a VL1 but I had a Casiotone MT-40 (the one with the beepy bass that was used on loads of Jamaican "ragga" tunes from the mid '80s onwards)... and much later on I persuaded my mum to buy me an SK-5 sampler for Christmas. It had a dog as an instrument for some reason, and one of the percussi...

Re: New retro game - Life of Pixel

Addicted to this at the moment... trying to complete it in order and just got up to the Game Boy levels. I must've died about 100 times on some of the later C64 levels  All good fun though! oh, and if anyone likes a challenge I've got the current fastest time on the very first ZX81 level. D...
