Re: Sound of Gaming - Radio 3

So far it's been mainly the orchestral modern scores to be fair.
There was an episode last week on indie game music.
This week they had an orchestra doing the Tetris theme which was quite fun.

Sound of Gaming - Radio 3

Someone has probably already mentioned this but has anyone else been listening to Sound of Gaming on Radio 3? It is available on the BBC Sounds App. It's a very highbrow look at video game music, presented by a video game composer. It's been on about 3 weeks now. It's really nice to have a program o...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 199

Really enjoyed this issue. Doom article was great, Gauntlet article really interesting, Amstrad Action article good too - despite never having read it. Also great to see Links Awakening in the magazine. Although it did say it was under rated Zelda game. By who? I've only ever read and heard from peo...

Re: From The Forum Issue 201

Invaders 1000 picture brought back happy memories. I nearly picked Grandstand Scramble, or Game and Watch Donkey Kong but I think my heart belongs to Zelda Links Awakening... I bloody love that game, invested so much time in it... it's the main reason I think I only got a 'Desmond' degree... too muc...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 200

Looking forward to this.
Good work on getting to issue 200. I might not have always agreed with your direction, but it's a great achievement and well deserved. Can't wait for issue 300... although I'll be nearly a pensioner by then, so hopefully it won't come round too quickly.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 171

Not a great issue for me. I'm sure the King of Kong article was covered in a similar way a few years ago, when the film was actually released. Seems a bit of a retread to me. The rest of the articles... Zaxxon looks good and I'm glad you said how awful ZX Spectrum version was. Saboteur II also of in...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 170

Well for me the worst issue in years. So much Final Fantasy, feels like 1/3 of the magazine.... and Final Fantasy XII ISN't retro and you won't convince me otherwise. Codemasters again. I'm bored of them now. They and their egg character seem to have popped up a lot lately. Tronix are even more obsc...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

If you read my posts I never said I didn't enjoy it, just that I'd never heard of them or any of their games. I actually quite enjoyed the article - I have heard of Ed Rotberg etc. - It was just a comment about how obscure they were. In that case I am glad you enjoyed reading it. But if you think B...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Freelancers or not, people that write for your magazine should show some professionalism when talking to readers on this the official forum. They are paid by the magazine after all. Not wade in with over the top defences of articles not even by them. Especially when the actual author showed them how...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

It's been pointed out to me on another forum that Laird (the articles writer no less) gave an excellent response to my feedback, and I thought I should give him credit for that. He didn't tell me what I should of said, or make snide comments. He offered a balanced reply that added to his argument of...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Also if anyone else who works for the magazine wants to chip in and criticize one of their loyal readers/subscribers then feel free. It's great customer relations.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

That's clearly not the case. You're not allowed to be rascist on the forum as the AUP states, but you're clearly allowed to say if you don't like elements of the magazine. We can't improve things if we never allow negative feedback. People are clearly going to disagree with you if they don't agree ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Block capitals... nice.
Show me where I say RG shouldn't write about them. I make no comment one way or the other. I just said they were very obscure - which they are. For goodness sake, no need for the angry caps lock. As I keep saying I quite enjoyed the article. Really don't see the problem.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Also I've never heard of Bally Sente, or a single one of the games mentioned they wrote... are you just making up software and software houses now? If not they are so obscure as to be ridiculous. The whole point of journalism is to inform readers of things they don't know. A quick google confirms t...

I forgot you are not allowed free speech on this forum anymore. Silly me. That's clearly not the case.
