Re: What grinds your gears ?

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 129

How dare you criticise the QL. About 37 people bought one, and thats good sales figures in my book. It was a success I tell you. In my opinion it was the bestest badly designed, poor keyboarded computer, with stupid mini tape drive storage of the eighties. It also did many things that the IBM PC, am...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 129

Atari didn't develop the Lynx, Epyx did. And it took 13 years for somebody to make a more powerful handheld. It could do things that not even the SNES or Mega Drive could do, that is pretty amazing for a handheld. The Jaguar is anything but over hyped, it's derided and ridiculed by most people, esp...

Re: Anyone else get sick of defending both Retro and Modern

I have to say I only really like retro games, but not for a snobby reason. Modern games I find either beyond me technically, or they make me feel sick. I'd like to play Titanfall and all the modern Fps's but i know it'd have too many controls for my limited skill level, and then I'd feel ill - my pe...

Re: So, how is new gen going for everyone?

I recently bought a Wii U just to play Zelda Wind Waker on. I haven't regretted it. Thinking of buying New Super Mario Bros next (as I don't like 3D Mario games) but I've heard mixed things about it. Is it any good? I'm Sure I'm in the minority here on this one but the new Mario on the WiiU just di...

Not a fan of Golden Axe, but Pokes and cheats are right up my street. Can't wait to get hold of this.

Re: ASCII Art

When I was about ten, my sisters then boyfriend - who worked at the local university - printed me out a large banner on dot matrix tractor paper with my name written in ASCII. It was ace, and I had it stuck on my wall most of the eighties. Which was at least 8 years longer than he lasted as my siste...

Re: The Dreamcast is Overrated

Loved the Dreamcast, but did hate the controller. Found it really uncomfortable. Perhaps its something to do with hand/finger sizes as to whether you like a controller or not. I loved the Gamecube controller, but I know others hated it.

Re: From the forum issue 129 - Worst sticking points

Almost any level on Super Ghouls and Ghosts on the SNES.
I think I got past the big bird thingy, but not any further than the level where the water washed over you. Does this mean I'm unskilled at gaming?
