Re: Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega - Indiegogo campaign

But even at £100 the cost of the limited edition Vega, with its 1,000 games built-in, represents a huge saving over the cost of the original product plus the cost of 1,000 of the original Spectrum games. What cost thousands of pounds back in the 1980s is now available for around 1 per cent of that ...

Re: Microsoft Buys Mojang

The way I see it, Minecraft is not so much a game, but a world creation tool. ...And much like any other of Microsoft's software tools, it'll only take a few bad decisions from the guys at Redmond before a bunch of disgruntled users create an open source client that is compatible with it's servers/s...

Streets of Rage to Platinum - The only company I'd trust to make a decent SoR 4.

Re: Favourite Arcade Racers?

There was an arcade racing game I used to love playing but I can't remember what it was called. You could choose a Mini and a Fiat 500 I think (definitely a Mini). It was in an Alpine setting, the tracks were all winding and the steering was really tight. What was it bloody called!....I'll have to ...

Re: Space Harrier!

I was so excited to get Space Harrier for my Speccy one christmas that it was all I could think about.

We had a "draw a Christmas themed envelope" at school, I plastered the envelope with a chequered floor and inhabitants of the Fantasy Zone, because that year, Space Harrier WAS Christmas.

Re: Strider (Reboot)

Yeah, it takes a little bit of skill unlocking, but as soon as you've got them the game begins to play very similarly to Strider II... Erm, I mean Strider 2. Yes.

Re: Elite: Dangerous launches final Alpha phase

I wouldn't worry too much, the Beta works fine on my3 year old dual core i5 with a GTX570, and Frontier claim that the betas are unoptimised, so the final release *should* end up working fine on a lower spec than that.

Re: XBone ad

1: It's been reported that every time that ad is on the second he says "Xbox on" thousands of Xbox Ones spring to life. 2: The ad spends it's time trying to promote the wonder of Kinect, only to advertise the console's price "From £349" - The price of the Kinectless Xbone bundle. Brilliant Marketing...

Slightly off topic but are you going to do a One Credit Champ on that?
1CC is arcade games only, but I may play it one day, for some reason or other. Maybe.

The Sensible Software book they did has already been mentioned, but late last year they Kickstarted Sega Megadrive/Genesis: Collected Works, and it's due for release in the coming months.

If you liked Console Wars, this'll be another to keep your eyes on.

Pimping my Youtube channel for fun and profit.

(Posting in case people didn't know about this, I think somebody linked to my YT channel on here long before I was an active member and just lurked... But As I've just got to 50+ posts... I might as well...) Do you like watching people get playing old arcade games for one credit, in a vain attempt ...
