Re: Jon Ritman interview about Head over heels

One of my all time favourites, its completely timeless. Seriously, a lot of old games I only still play out of pure nostalgia, but this is still such an excellent game in it's own right. Having said that, the Retrospec remake is fantastic as well. Totally faithful to the original, looks and sounds g...

Re: Gaming moments that make you go "wow!"

The first time I played Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast was ridiculous. Okay, Sonic is fast, thats cool. But THAT fast...in 3D...upside down and everything...made me dizzy just watching it!

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

Just bought Guacamelee on the Xbone while it's on offer before my Gold runs out. Completed this ages ago on the 360, but it's such an awesome game.

Re: Being an older gamer

So what do I have to say about this subject? Well I'm not telling you - I only talk to my computer! People were shy long before computer games, and might be antisocial reading books, painting collecting stamps etc Similarly addiction is hardly confined to Computer games; people can get addicted to ...

Re: Do any of you still watch Retro Cartoons?

Yeah Ive noticed a few of them were very different with massive cuts to what I remembered! To be fair, Ren & Stimpy had some very dodgy stuff in it to be fair! Just checked my DVDs (region 1) and they actually dont have a classification, which is interesting. I always found it odd too that on the Du...

Re: Being an older gamer

I dont get it so much about my age, but people tend to have more preconceptions because Im a 'gamer girl,' so thats annoying. There is often an assumption that any girls who claim to be gamers arent and basically just say it to fit in with their boyfriend. Massive football fan as well, so I get a lo...

Re: Characters who died in Cartoons

Animals of Farthing Wood was a massacre. They killed main character, minor characters and even babies in brutal ways. This image of the rat babies impaled on thorns by Shrikes still haunts my dreams: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltsi11Iudm1qb2bkjo1_500.jpg Bloody hell, still can't believe they...

Re: Do any of you still watch Retro Cartoons?

I went on a cartoon bender about 5-6 years back while trying to get my hands on the old Sonic SatAM series. Then after discovering the wonders of P2P and torrents, and starting searching for just about anything I could vaguely remember, mainly TMHT and Ren & Stimpy, only for the DVD Gods to help me ...

Re: Trains in games

No mention yet for Cool Spot? Loved that level.

Good calls on Gunstar Heroes, and especially Grim Fandango, what a game that was, and so much of it centred around a train you never even got to ride on during the gameplay!

Re: Most unforgiving jumps in games?

Good call on Cauldron...Christ that was on hard game to control, even by Speccy standards! Desperately trying to bounce right to the edge of a gap so you could make it across...only to get it a fraction wrong, fall 4 screens and smash to pieces on the floor... What about the Magic Knight games Cant ...
