Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

Indeed. The PSPs PS1 emulator is also significantly better than the PS1-Classic as well, especially if you're running "official" PSN Playstation 1 game eboots - they're practically flawless.

Re: Favorite GBA game

It's actually more of a portable 3DO, technically speaking. But I know what you mean, it has a lot of games that are either from SNES or feautre SNES-like scrolling effects. How so? Aside from the ARM CPU I don’t see that the GBA has much in common with the 3DO. I meant that more in the sense that ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I have been trying to give my old Wii U a bit of love in recent weeks, and purchased a digital (and exclusive to Wii U at the time of writing this post) game called "Affordable Space Adventures". Really finding it enjoyable, despite a lot of trial and error! Makes great use of the Wii U Gamepad as a...

Re: Modding a PSP 1000?

Its a pity that Ridge Racer, Ridge Rev and Rage Racer never got official PSN releases, particularly the latter....i've ripped/converted Rage Racer to an eboot, but its actually quite laggy with iffy framerate. Same with Gran Turismo 2. Ridge Racer and RRR seem to run fine though (although think i ha...

Re: Modding a PSP 1000?

Definitely worth modding a PSP (any psp) - its PS1 built in emulation is vastly superior to that of the PS1 Classic/Mini (that I've just mentioned on the other thread!), especially if you're just putting on the "official" PSN PS1 games on it. Many great original PSP games to go for as well, and abso...

Re: Quake II Fully Ray Traced

Meh, I'd take the PS1 port of Quake 2, by Hammerhead, over all others any day. :P

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Against my better judgement, I ended up getting a Sony Playstation Classic/Mini the other day, and have been fiddling around with it. I guess its already fairly well documented that the emulation is pretty sub-par, and further let down by a poor selection of games and in almost half the cases the in...

A nice little game, but I unfortunately made the mistake of playing the Gamecube version first, which is magnificent and so much better suited to analogue control!

Re: Master System must haves?

Lack of love for the Master System version of Speedball 2. As a Speedball 2 nut, the only versions that are worth playing IMO is the definitive Amiga version, and the Megadrive port. (not counting the Xbox Live Arcade one, which was basically the Amiga one with some extras that didn't add much to t...

Donut County on Switch. Very short and simple indie game (inspired by the Katamari games), but reasonably charming.

Re: Today

As for that Smollet guy crying wolf, I'm not that surprised, we've become a society that incentives victimhood. He's a selfish, greedy and devious individual and tried to exploit the fact that homophobic abuse IS sadly still commonplace in our society. His self-serving gamble backfired spectacularl...

Re: Your New Retro Gamer Community Team

During a recent presentation to shareholders, the one big thing that the C-suite of the company raised as most exciting was "forums". Community is of high priority, hence all the work on platform migration and the Future Community Suite. There is no move away from forums towards social media - the ...

Re: Your New Retro Gamer Community Team

However, if there was some drive to abandon forums as a matter of policy, I can't imagine Joe and his team would have been allowed to start big jobs like the major upgrades they're involved in elsewhere. During a recent presentation to shareholders, the one big thing that the C-suite of the company...

so the 360 came out in 2005 does that mean in 2020 the 360 will be retro :D  that will blow some peoples minds if it does that Dear lord. Re: Your New Retro Gamer Community Team

That tends to be how it happens. One of the controversial GRAPES (guns, religion, abortion, politics, economics, sexuality) emerges in a forum dedicated to anything but emerges, bickering occurs, relationships fray, an exodus is triggered in the interest of preserving broader discussion and the bic...
