Re: Retro Gamer issue 153

Overall a good issue - lots of articles which interest me personally. One thing of note though is this months star letter regarding arcade club in bury. I'm quite shocked RG haven't ran an article on this place yet - on the letters page they cite distance as being the reason why they haven't visited...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 135

As a 41 year old I feel like retro gamer is becoming less and less relevant to me. Im not critisizing the journalism or overall quality of the magazine its just for me I prefer reading about 8-bit machines and games but I guess retro gamer has covered pretty much everything as far as the 8 bit scen...

Re: The Missing Retro Gamer features

Elite's 'scooby doo' would make a great article. From the first adverts and screenshots in crash and zzap, which dubbed it as 'the worlds first computer cartoon' it created much anticipation among the kids of the day. Then after postponement after postponement what was finally delivered was nothing ...

best free programming language

Used to do a bit of BASIC on my c16 when I was younger and also dabbled with PASCAL years back, I would like to try my hand at programming again and wondered if anyone could reccommend a free language to learn. I was thinking of buying an old 8 bit computer - maybe atari as I think there is quite a ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 124

It was an average issue for me TBH. Some good articles in there, Wonderboy, Altered Beast etc but too much old, basic looking Atari coverage for my personal tastes. I just cant believe that anyone - except perhaps Laird - actually plays these games for any length of time anymore. Ive played most of...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 124

Got this issue yesterday and its a great read. The activision feature is a great story and the bomb jack article is interesting, it was one of my favourite arcade games and I eagerly awaited elites home conversions! However I was a c16 owner at the time so I was utterly dissapointed when I bought th...
