From the Forum - Issue 205: Sega vs Nintendo

https://i.imgur.com/0wmqahV.gif Right then, it's the big one - the great console war of the Nineties! You don't need me to explain this. Sega or Nintendo? Mario or Sonic? Mega Drive or SNES? No fence-sitting - just let us know which side you were on, and why it was clearly the right choice. All rep...

Re: Craziness In the retro community

I cannot comment on specifics regarding the situation under discussion, but for the record Kieren and RG parted ways following the publication of his last feature, which appeared a year ago in issue 191. He is no longer a contributor to the magazine.

From the Forum - Issue 204: The Nostalgia Effect

I feel like I'm doing fewer and fewer of these. You know the drill: we ask a question, you guys provide some answers, and some of them will be printed in the magazine based on the shadowy, opaque decision-making process we have. So the PC Engine Mini is out in a couple of months, and we're intereste...

Re: Castlevania

Those are broadly agreed to be the best ones, but there are definitely others that are worth your time if you're hankering for more! Castlevania III for the NES, Super Castlevania IV on the SNES and Castlevania: Bloodlines on the Mega Drive should all appeal if you like that one. Conveniently, these...

That one tripped me up too, actually.

Re: Questions for Stefano Arhnold (TecToy)

TecToy released both brand new Master System games like Street Fighter II, and localised versions of existing games. How were these created - did you have local programmers in Brazil, or were they done elsewhere?

Re: Is the forum in decline?

I understand that some members may hold different opinions about events that have taken place elsewhere, but please don't use this forum to continue external drama. We're quite capable of making our own.

Re: Why is Tails hated so much?

There are many, varied reasons why people don't like Tails, some of which are more valid than others. In the Sonic games, Tails can cause problems during single-player games where he's able to tag along. Most memorably, he quite often runs into bombs in Sonic 2's special stages, but he can also inte...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 199

Thanks, but I can hardly take the credit for the feature. I only contributed the "Does It Run Doom?" spread, as I suffer from motion sickness while playing Doom - the bulk of the feature was put together by Adam Barnes and Darran.

Re: Is the forum in decline?

This all happened a couple of years ago and to be honest, it really needs to be put behind us. I strongly suspect that many of the banned members (you know, the ones who haven't already registered new accounts) probably have no desire to come back, and there's not going to be any change in the "no r...

I'm heading out in April, and will be bringing quite a lot of money and an empty suitcase with me. I'm actually staying fairly close to Akihabara too.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 199

Can't bring myself to read the Amstrad Action article. It's probably very good but although I'll read about an Amstrad game, the mag holds no interest. Think about it this way, would you be reading Retro Gamer without Amstrad Action? If you assume that Imagine Publishing was the only potential buye...

It's on the Mega Drive version too, I believe - there's just not a lot of videos of it out there.

Sounds like Pie Slap, the mini-game on Cosmic Spacehead. Here's a video of the Master System version.
