Re: Is my copy of Alex Kidd in Miracle World broken?

I've never heard of a cart version having the hamburger over the onigiri, but I could be wrong. The best thing to do is use some other hardware without Alex Kidd built in and see what happens, but I'm guessing you'd already worked that out. Do you know anyone with another Master System? If not, do y...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing Bloodstained - Ritual of the Night. Whilst I'm not 100% sold on the art style, the gameplay is solid, and it matches up quite well with Castlevania - Symphony of the Night. Overall I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves Metroidvania's. I'm on Bloodstained too, and I'm nearing...

Re: Retrogaming Spotlight: Donkey Kong

The Atari 2600 conversion of Donkey Kong would have been one of the very first games I ever played, and I've always had a bit of a soft spot for it. But man, Donkey Kong is hard - when we covered the high score scene for an issue a couple of years ago, we had a competition on the magazine team. Our ...

From the Forum - Issue 197: Shenmue

Hello everybody, long time no see! For some reason, I haven't done the Mailbag in months. But now I'm back at it, so we're going to tease your brains until they emit something I can print. So right now, I would like you to consider the following question: Shenmue - love it or loathe it? This is one ...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

Nothing like a forum argument to come home to after a lovely weekend in Paris, eh?

There was an argument here, and after representations from both participants, I've shuffled it off into its own private dimension where only the mods can see it. We’ll have to decide what to do from there.

Re: Retrogaming Spotlight: Frogger

The thing I always found interesting about Frogger was its ability to appeal to non-gamers. I used to live with a guy whose dad was an absolute terror - ex-police, wouldn't stand for people shortening his son's name (no nicknames allowed!), quite grumpy. The one thing we were able to converse about ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 195

It surprised me too, to be fair. I wasn't convinced stickers were a good idea when they were first suggested last year, as I also thought they weren't right for the target age group. The reception to them quickly proved me wrong.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 195

I think it's a sample size problem - if you base everything on the reactions here, you get a distorted view of what people do and don't respond to. But less than an hour ago, we got this tweet showing someone who clearly likes them, as you can see stickers from our Konami and SNK sheets on his lapto...

Re: Turbografx Mini/PC Engine Mini

I'm really interested in seeing how this particular machine does over here. Unlike most of the plug and play retro consoles so far, it doesn't have the same organic nostalgia base due to the fact that the original console wasn't widely available. But it does have a reputation amongst enthusiasts as ...

Re: Cancel Subscription

Okay, I just had a look through the moderator logs and that all checks out! It did seem strange, and the IP address didn't resolve to your usual ISP, so I was worried that someone had gained access to your account. I've restored the original poster's name and will set everything else right now.

Yes, Iain Lee will be returning to the pages of RG in the near future. Paul's column will also continue to run in the magazine.

I just hope they don't do what they always used to do on the Mega Games compilations, which was shoving World Cup Italia 90 (or Sega Soccer, later) in at every opportunity.

You can't possibly own the copyright for all the games you host there. Don't do this.
