Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

Aww thanks. Although that particular game is I'm afraid going to be fairly easy in this issue. The most important video game system launch of all time. Gaming's once and forever mainstream breakthrough. But as the Playstation hit the UK in late 1995 were the games there? And when are 9 Demos not 9 d...

The 12 days of Master System

As we all know, it's Christmaster System and thus the beginning of the 12 days of Master System. I hope you were lucky enough to unwrap the world's greatest console this morning and if you did I can help. Here then is part 1 of the 12 Master System games you should buy first. Not always the best but...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

The Amiga Power trilogy concludes and this time there's no way to frame them as the good guys, 3 terrible crimes in 3 consecutive issues mean they absolutely deserve to have all been murdered in issue 65. We hear their pleas for mitigation as the gaming heaven gets personal and the gaming hell is ev...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

The Commodore 64, the machine that thinks colours should be seen and not heard. This could be a problem when the gaming heaven is a cartoony arcade port and the gaming hell is from the very top tier of cartoon licences. Meanwhile we take a snapshot in time from possibly the turn of the decade's bigg...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

Movie licences, tricky buggers. Super Play Issue 13 had 2 of them, one the biggest licence of the 90s and somehow one the biggest licence of the 2010s. They faired... differently. Meanwhile there is a fight to the death between 2 SNES driving games both based on Amiga originals. How do they match up...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

The Sega Saturn, Sega's 2nd attempt at a 32-bit sensation and a console about to get repeatedly kicked in the teeth by Sony's storming into the console market. In the meantime though things looked good, Issue 3 of Sega Saturn Magazine brought us one of the all time great arcade conversions, a unique...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

Games-X was a weekly games magazine, trying to solve the problem of out of date info before the internet did. It didn't last long. Halfway through its run, the gaming heaven is an adventure game from the company the invented the genre, twice. The gaming hell is what happens when the French try to do...

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

We're back! In Episode 19, Sega Power comes under the microscope.  The highest scoring game in the issue was their self proclaimed saviour of the Mega CD, but will a 2 year old Amiga game really do the job? The lowest scoring game is the licence for the 2nd most famous Toy movie of the 90s.  And in ...

Re: The 73% Trials

Time to put up or shut up, after an entire series of putting 73% reviews on trial, what would I personally give 7/10 to.

Well here's one, The Incredible Crash Dummies on Master System. I just hope I justify it well enough to avoid jail...

Re: The 73% Trials

Tom Cruise's follow up to Top Gun could not have been more 80s, but to Total, the Game Boy spin off game was absolutely 73.  Was the review a podium winner or embedded in the wall at turn 2?

Re: The 73% Trials

Gunstar Heroes is considered by many to be one of the standout Mega Drive games.  But Sega Power gave it the dreaded 73% on launch.  Do they have good reasoning or was this a reviewer who couldn't be bothered?  Court is in session.
