Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

My PS1 Classic is now hacked with BleemSync 1.1 and now has over 80 games on it, it is harder and takes a lot longer to hack then the NES/SNES Mini's but totally worth it. I have been playing Castlevania SOTN on it and it is great. Are you able to still use two controllers? The hacks I've seen use ...

Feels like it's worth a try. If so you've got a cart variant that apparently no-one's ever dumped before.

Re: Is my copy of Alex Kidd in Miracle World broken?

I don't wish to throw a grenade into this, but my cart version - rice cake. In fact I've tried UK, US, Korea. Brazil and Japan roms (and a couple of revisions of all of them) in an emulator and they're all rice cake.

My "built in" ROM does not work on either Dega or Kega. which is infuriating.

Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show

We're back, and this is one people here will recognise. The infamous issue of Amiga Power that got everyone on a tizz. Yes, Cannon Fodder and its depiction of war, Stuart Campbell and his depiction of Old Soldiers and the Royal British Legion and their depiction of trademarks is the top story but th...

Re: Is my copy of Alex Kidd in Miracle World broken?

I'm pretty certain it is going to run off the cart though. I don't think the SMS' reaction to a corrupt cart is to book the internal game and if the cart works then it's just going to use it. Thinking about it, I could also prove this, I've got dumps of both an EU cart and the internal bios. Be triv...

Re: Is my copy of Alex Kidd in Miracle World broken?

At the risk of asking a dumb question, why did you buy a loose cart of a game you already had as a loose cart, just inside the machine?

Re: The Retro Games Magazine Show Episode 2 - Zzap! 64 Issue 1

Take this with salt because I'm only halfway through Crash issue 1 and not this yet but I did think they were lengthy videos. And just judging from that one half video, I wouldn't both slowing down and enlarging so we can read it, link to the sites that host these things and you can just flick and t...

Re: The Retro Games Magazine Show

The only problem I have with this is I've been describing Yesterzine as YouTube's 6th most popular magazine retrospective show and now I'll probably have to move it to number 7. :P

In reality I think we might be the only 2 and we're taking very different approaches so all is good :)

Re: Gaming Video links

Thanks!

Judging by the video of yours I'm literally watching right now (Crash issue 1) I'm guessing the Yesterzine series might be more up your alley. :)

Re: Gaming Video links

On what should I play this week is the original SimCity. Everyone I asked this to just said "PC!" but there are more distinct versions of Sim City 1 for PC than you just guessed there were.  Plus PC is not where SimCity started.  Elsewhere there's a stonking version involving one of the greats of ga...

Sometimes it features retro-like games.

Which, to be honest, I think I've played enough of from seeing the review :)

Plus Tamara's stuff is joyous and upbeat and lovely and you should watch it. Especially this one about Clockwork Knight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBeGOry-Q14 -- Hi I'm Dudley of this parish. I recently started a show called Yesterzine, playing the highest and lowest rated games in old magazin...
