Re: First Computer
Bit of thread necromancy here eh? ;) First computer I had was a Sord M5 which I was donated by my auntie when my cousins had given up on it , it wasn't a great computer but had a brilliant manual (taught myself BASIC with it ;)) , my first proper gaming computer though was an Atari 800xl (great mach...

Re: Best version of Wonder Boy in Monster Land
The C64 version was a pretty decent stab at a conversion , but the SMS version is probably one of the best reasons to actually HAVE an SMS(that and its sequel Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap) .
The Megadrive one was Wonderboy in Monster World by the way ,

Re: For Christmas, this time 20 years ago.
I >think< I still had the atari 8 bit at the time , so from memory I got a copy of Gnome Ranger and ha! Cassette 50 (and I'd more fun breaking the games and tweaking the amount of lives etc in them actually) , may have got some more stuff as well (think I got a hi fi between myself and my brother)

Re: The PlayStation Store
Don't, please, get me started. I just do not get it. Sure I understand licensing issues, translation issues, copyright, etc., but why is Europe so utterly dumped upon with this kind of thing? Sony promised, as seem to recall, that there would be 100 PS1 games up on PSN by Christmas. Well here we ar...

Re: Issue 71 Feedback Thread
Hey , I always love reading the Feedback thread , it's always chockful of righteous indignation and I always find that entertaining: Regarding the christmas cover , I couldn't give a fiddlers , maybe because the games mags I read back then didn't really do them , and I'm a bit of a scrooge when it c...

Re: Your Gaming Hell
Being on a forum full of Speccy fans who claim every arcade conversion was better on their ZX, oh wait ;) (>cough< I liked chakan on the megadrive by the way) I'm a Spectrum fan but I'd happily concede that there was no arcade conversion at all that was at its best on the machine. There are still a...

Re: Best Ever Budget Title? (or your favourite)
Zybex on the Atari 8bit (it had a release on the c64 and spectrum as well) For the atari it was probably the best horizontal shooter on the system , and one of the few "modern ones" i.e. powerups and bosses etc. It looked fantastic , sounded great and had an ingenious control system. It would have be...

a..t the risk of a thread hijack , that is pretty cool , I'd known of mmc/sd card based cartridge devices , but that seems to be a hell of a lot better. It is a pretty pricey though compared to the xe1541 cable though (which is about €15 or so on ebay. It is more expensive yes, but you don't need...
