I enjoyed them back in the day, but as everyone else here has said, the difficulty was too high.
Now Super Cauldron on CPC I've never played. I don't believe it was ever an official sequel, though it seemed like it was implied...

Re: retro city rampage
There was supposed to be a "special announcement" in late Feb, which turned out to be the soundtrack release. They never said it would be the release date.

Re: Book...
I went through a phase of jotting down video gaming memories with the aim of putting it online. I have the files somewhere, but I just found other things to do

Re: Stupidest thing you've done thats damaged a game or mach
Fried my GX4000 because I lost the UK - Aus electricity adapter & tried to use a normal universal Australian power adapter. The little Amstrad didn't like that all that much. I THOUGHT I'd set the voltage correctly, but apparently not...

Re: Virtual boy ac adaptor?
Maybe it depends on where you get the Adapter Tap from. I'm from Australia & my Adapter Tap is from the US. I have all 3 SNES systems (PAL, NTSCU, NTSCJ) & the only power cable that fits the tap is the US model. As I said, I bought my Adapter Tap from the US so maybe this is why. The Japanese model ...

Re: Covertape classics
Ikari Warriors I remember Amstrad Action getting into a bit of legal trouble with SNK over that one. As for me, you can add a +1 to Blues Bros. That was a great game. Other games on AA tapes that I enjoyed included: Marsport - I ALMOST played it through to the end Tir Na Nog - Not as good as Marspo...

Re: Hot Topic - Best Dizzy game
Crystal Kingdom was... different. Slightly episodic compared to the others which were sprawling adventures with no chapters or levels. As a game I didn't like it & the chunky mode 0 graphics made it look really bad. Looking back, I'd have to say Treasure Island was my favourite.

Re: From the Forum Issue 90
When Amstrad Action offered "Blue Brothers" on the covertape. I thought "something's not right, this game isn't all that old". That was the point I realised it was winding down.

Re: Super Nintendo collecting thread.
Ahh the SNES. I'm nearing 400 carts myself, a lot of them boxed. I also have a complete Sufami Turbo collection fully boxed, which I'm quite pleased with. It's a pity that it never really took off, as it was a great idea.

Super Bomberman 4 for me. I like the ability to use the enemies once you've knocked them out.

At the moment I'm also hooked on "Game Dev Story". Prior to that it would be Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. haven't ventured out past that yet. Need to get the other games in the series...

Jack The Nipper. I played it at a friend's house & enjoyed it so much it prompted me to buy the superior Amstrad version. Everything on the Amstrad was superior though
