MAME + 4K + GLSL/HLSL

Guys, I'm looking buy a high end MAME cocktail cab. Genuine 19" 15Khz CRT is out the question as nobody sells them now but I want the screen as close to genuine as possible. With this in mind, I want a system that can run GLSL/HLSL shaders to emulate the curve, bloom, and scanlines of a real CRT (no...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Not trying to pick a fight with planetmatt, but this is his first post since August last year, and only his third post since October 2013. And he wonders why it's in decline. :? Maybe the forum would be more active and less in decline if people posted more themselves. I don't mind people mentioning...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

Definitely in decline. Most of the people who are banned were the ones most passionate about retro gaming. You ban them and all you're left with is the dull homogeneous middle ground group think. This makes for a pretty dull environment. Forum gets duller and even more people leave and before you kn...

Re: MAME - what do you use?

I was on 0.120 for years but then heard about HLSL so upgraded to 0.151. HLSL was totally worth the upgrade. Games now look like I remember them when played on an LCD.

Closest Cherry switches to retro computer keyboards

I'm looking for a mechanical PC keyboard that has the closest switch action to either a BBC Micro or Breadbin C64. I currently have Cherry Red switches but they're too clicky. I remember the C64 and BBC had a soft type key action. Anyone have any information of what Cherry KB switches are closest to...

Re: What is the best

870 MCS with slugs and extended tubes from Bad Company 2. That sucker could counter snipe half a mile across the map. Plus it was accessible to all classes and was in the Nam DLC.

Re: Games about the end of the world

PANDEMIC!!!! that's the one I played There's a good co-operative board game called pandemic where you have to go around the world trying to stop a plague that's threatening to wipe out everything. It's far more fun to BE the plague. Once you see France turn black and the last Frenchmen die, you'll ...

Re: Games about the end of the world

Plague Inc is one of the best mobile games ever made. It's basically a giant bunch of stats hidden under some pretty graphics. You get credits by killing and spreading your plague. You then need to spend these credits on evolving the plague with symptom and transmission abilities. Make it too lethal...

Ico got re-released when SotC came out so I don't think it's that rare anymore.
