Re: Cracked / Torn Spines
FWIW, the last issue I received was damaged exactly as the OP said. I don't recall it happening often though, might have to check.

Re: Collectors needed
http://fc02.deviantart.net/images2/i/2003/50/1/6/Edge_Retro_Issue_3_Cover.png I love that particular issue of Edge. I so wish Retro Gamer would do something like that one day (more of a focus on rare but playable games for various consoles - with a penchant for the Japanese import scene for console...

Re: How much last gen stuff is too much?
I will need to think up some Saturn articles to write I must have mentioned it before (and quite a few times at that :) ), but a large feature on the fascinating Saturn import scene is a must for a magazine that calls itself Retro Gamer. I love Magic Knight Rayearth, Panzer Dragoon and Shining the ...

Re: How much last gen stuff is too much?
But i think now is a perfect time to start featuring Xbox, PS2, GameCube stuff with next gen about to hit our shores, and certainly more Saturn, PS1, Dreamcast stuff would be much appreciated. I love all the 8/16-bit stuff, but would definitally like to start seeing more of the former. Exactly. In ...

Re: How much last gen stuff is too much?
I believe RG IS treading water and has been for a while... I mean, there is still way too much space devoted to 8 and 16 bit computers IMHO. Reading these boards from time to time, RG seems to be taken hostage by hardened old schoolers who won't accept a shift in the magazine, even though it's been ...

Indeed. Very collectable system too, with the mini discs and all.

Re: From the forum Issue 121
Tales of Destiny. I've never played the apparently superior Tales of Destiny R, but this PS1 offering is the one I've had the most fun with. Love the 2D graphics, Sakuraba soundtrack and real-time battles. I sold my original copy a couple years ago, but I rectified that mistake in a seller's remorse...

Re: The Xbox/PS2 coverage discussion thread
I would stop subscribing if RG started focusing more on smartphone/tablet games. (I really don't care about homebrew either, I wish those pages were allocated to more interesting matters). P.S. I am mostly interested in NES games, 16-bit consoles and 32-bit consoles, though PS2 and GC are fine by me...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 116 - LucasArts special
The News From... articles are a great idea! Unfortunately, the author of these columns is too "subtly sarcastic" for my taste.
I agree that the tone regarding the Saturn brought memories from 90s magazines...

That's a shame, I thought otherwise. For what it's worth, I really enjoy them. I basically reupped my subscription for those and the Retroinspections you do.

Re: History of Japanese Game Developers - Kickstarter
Someone needs to post about your project on Neo GAF. P.S. Looks very interesting by the way. Among other things, I would love to learn more about Technosoft/Tecnosoft! ;-) Good luck! P.P.S. Nevermind what I said, I see that there is already a thread on the topic: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthre...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 116 - LucasArts special
Covers a bit bland but you cant please everyone, reckon it'll help attract a fair few new readers though so thats the bottom line. If that truly were the bottom line, they would focus much more on video game collecting (for all regions). THAT would attract a whole lot of new people, you can bank on...
