And the mini has games nobody played recently because a lot of people remember them being pish
Don't really understand why you'd say that... the only pish game is 'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six'. The other 19 titles range from good to excellent. Good mix of genres too.

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

Still got my pre-order... I just collect up all these mini consoles and I think the choice of games is very good. People are complaining about no Tomb Raider, no Crash Bandicoot, no WipeOut... yes, these games are the heart of the PS1 but we've all played them very recently with the HD remakes. It m...

Re: Toki Remake - Switch

Definitely want this... but £35-£40 for a physical copy? Ouch. I know it's a 'collector's edition' but it just feels like a rip-off compared to other similar remakes/updates such as Sonic Mania (£20-£25) for example. I suppose Flashback collector's edition was £35-£40 too, but that soon came down to...

Re: Horizon Chase Turbo

Completed this on PS4 last week... a fantastic homage to the 'Lotus Trilogy' and 'Top Gear 2'. There's a great progression system and tons of depth too with career, tournaments, endurance etc. And the music! Wow - if you loved the music from Lotus you're gonna love this! Highly recommended. Fingers ...

Re: 3DS Games discussion/Collecting thread

Yep, got Luigi's Mansion yesterday. It's fantastic. The sprites have been recreated in full 3D and the sense of depth is incredible. I know 3D is just a gimmick, but here it works really well (think of how the 3D improved Kirby Planet Robobot). Another nice touch by Nintendo is that this game is cir...

Re: gamesTM and GamesMaster to end

Gutted! :( Been a subscriber of GamesTM since issue 2! The quality varied over the years but the retro sections and reviews were mostly excellent throughout. Never consistently bought Gamesmaster, but I've certainly been reading it on and off for the last 25 years! It looks like Edge is the only pri...

Re: What System would you like a 'Classic' console for?

My top three would be...

1. Amiga 1200 and/or CD32 (with working CD-ROM drive?)
2. Sega Saturn (definitely not the PAL version)
3. Amstrad CPC 6128 Plus (but it'll never happen)

Re: 3DS Games discussion/Collecting thread

Anyone had any experience of the 2DS XL? Would you reccomend it? I have every iteration of 3DS/2DS and I would definitely recommend the *new* 2DS XL. It's so comfortable to hold and has all the power and features that the 3DS XL has (except the 3D of course!) If I had to pick a fault I'd say that t...

Re: PS5, XBOX2

Nothing to report, just click-bait filled with the usual rumours... :D I imagine a PS5 and XBOX Two will arrive by 2020 or 2021, but I'm definitely not ready. I've still got so much to play and no more room under my TV, but I say this every generation and I always cave, so will probably get a PS5! :...

Re: Streets of Rage 2 - Runs Slow WTF?

You might have to put up with a stretched picture or letterboxing, which is why 4:3 sets are preferable for systems from that era... Matt_B is definitely right about the lag not being a problem. I just wanted to add that all widescreen TVs have a 4:3 viewing option (check your TV manual if you're u...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I've also read Okami, which is only getting a physical release in Japan, will support English, anybody else thinking of importing it? I'm tempted because it's a great game, but I've already bought it twice. Anyone who hasn't already bought the HD remake on another platform shouldn't be wavering tho...

Re: What did you prefer: cassettes or 5¼" floppies?

Neither... the high quality 3" disks are the way to go  https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4b/AMSoft_Compact_Floppy_Disc_20071208.jpg The Amstrad CPC 6128 was my first machine and the only draw back to the disk format was the cost. In the UK a typical full price cassette was £9.9...

Re: 3DS Games discussion/Collecting thread

Picked up 'Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux' last week - really enjoying so far. There's no 3D or English voice over but it feels like a really good remake of the DS classic...
