Re: 'Bedrooms to Billions' film project - how you can help!
This has now popped up on Steam, standard and deluxe editions for £6.29 and £9.89 respectively until Tuesday. Obviously it's digital only but far better than the prices on their website.

Re: Can you justify using pirated software.
It's not a justification but more a side note - the idea of a 'lost sale' has been shown to be a completely incorrect statistic simply because not every pirated version would have equaled a sale. So that makes it a percentage instead. I've no idea what that percentage actually is but I remember rea...

Re: Why do you buy Retro Gamer?
Funny, I was pondering the very same question the other day. I can't remember how far back exactly but I know I haven't read issue 100 onwards. Up until recently I would just flick through and then put it with the rest in the shelf. The last few ive just put it straight in the shelf. This is the fi...

Re: The Xbox/PS2 coverage discussion thread
You're basically saying would you stop buying Retro Gamer if a certain era became prevalent. I did notice that you don't say how much coverage is too much though, suggesting there would be more Xbox/PS2 stuff at the expensive of 8-Bit, but that would never happen. Nope, no agenda, just interested i...

Re: The Xbox/PS2 coverage discussion thread
TMR, we broadly agree - I think it is all about interesting stories. Whilst I may be a bit of an outlier here, I read the mag purely because I love gaming and want to be entertained: I don't get any nostalgia-hit or even play retro games these days (nor have done for many, many years). Anyway, to an...

Re: The Xbox/PS2 coverage discussion thread
1) None, so long as there was a reasonable balance. 2) 32 I really hope this doesn't descend into another petty "is it/it isn't retro" argument as it's getting boring. I hope so too, because that isn't the intention at all; for the record, I do believe that it is retro, but that isn't really the po...

The Xbox/PS2 coverage discussion thread
In the Issue 117 Feedback thread there is discussion about more focus on Xbox/PS2 in future issues: somebody said they didn't want to see it, and the following posts were made to suggest why it should happen: the amount of mails I get requesting Xbox making ofs is getting silly at the moment) so the...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 117 - Feedback Thread
Its fair to say theres nothing you really like, but coming on and calling it mediocre is, in my opinion, pretty rude to all who worked on the issue - theres no need to take it that far, especially when there are obviously a lot of people who love this issue based on the comments. Do you actually kn...

Re: The Missing Retro Gamer features
A possible future feature that might be of interest: A few forum members are talking about a trip to Japan. I'd be interested in seeing the trip covered a little in the mag, including the good finds on the trip- Both in terms of products found and bought, and a guide of great places to shop for gam...

Re: From the forum issue 115 - Adventure games
Either of the two classic Indiana Jones games because...well, who doesn't wish they could be Indy?!
And because they were cracking games with novel ways to play, looked lovely, were funny and had some great puzzles.
But mainly because I wished I was Indy.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 112 - Feedback Thread
I'd love to be a fly on the wall of a sales meeting about this one. Typically, 'number' covers tend to sell very well in tech mags and also many consumer mags (hence why there are so many '50 blah blah blah' covers), and it'd be interesting to discover if this is also true for RG. As it is, I rathe...

Re: The Missing Retro Gamer features
Well I've mentioned in the 111 Feedback thread, but I have two feature ideas now: 1 - A feature around the various construction kits that have seen release over the years - The Bard's Tale Construction Set, RPG Maker (from the PS2), Pinabll Construction Set, their relative success, notable stuff cre...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 111 - Feedback Thread
Poor old stvd. It's pretty obvious from his post that he meant disappointing as opposed to poor because there's little content that interests him. No need for everyone to jump on him about it. Yeah, this forum is horribly-defensive at times. It's funny nobody ever jumps on people who just say "BEST...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 109 Official Feedback
The Half-Life piece has been taken directly from GamesTM, hasn't it? I very much doubt that Well the only reason I said that was because GamesTM have a piece on it, and it was written by Ian Dransfield, who I know usually writes for Imagine's current-gen mags. I admit I could be wrong, hence why it...
