Re: How not to start a retro feature

I apologise. Looks like this topic has been beaten to death already in the issue 74 feedback thread (like I said, we get the magazines much later in Australia so I've only just picked it up). That's not to say I didn't feel insulted by the opening paragraph, because I still do. And still believe it ...

How not to start a retro feature

"Capcom's Ghosts 'N Goblins, if you think about it, is a lot like Outrun. Which is to say, it's a game in which a little bit of character and humour, allied to high-quality graphics and distinctive music, go a long way to cover up what, in fact, is often some pretty mediocre game design." Seriously ...

Re: Retro Gamer Now On IPhone

Only stumbled upon this app today and was kind of surprised. I had been talking with a number of people saying that if my favourite mags could do a subscription service on the iPad I'd just have to buy one. Well, now here you guys are, and I'm really excited (although my bank balance is going to be ...

Well the PSP version, the one you could pre-order, has now disappeared from the Amazon site. So I guess that's the final word. System 3 are hopeless.

Yeah I agree with that, there's no way it's going to feel anything like the original, (how can it? the gameplay would be seen as too basic nowadays, even on a handheld) unless it's a souped up isometric version, that's the only way it would work. Well that's what it is actually. We haven't heard an...

It's a shame, I was really looking forward to this game.

Over on Amazon.co.uk, it seems all platforms have dropped off the twig except the PSP, which has a new release date of 29th February.

The last official word we heard on the game came from Retrogamer. Would be nice if they chased it up again.

Last Ninja remake. Any news?

The Last Ninja remake by System 3 on PSP, Wii and DS, has there been any news of this at all? It's meant to be out at the end of January, and I can't help but notice that... It's the end of January. We haven't heard anything for months.

Anyone know anything?

Yeah we still get together now and again for a gaming night. There is usually 8 or more of us, with 2 or 3 of them being women. A BBQ is had and we drink far too much alcohol. We usually play: DS: Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros, Tetris. Gamecube: Super Monkey Ball. PS2: Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2....

It's doubtful there are many 8-bit arcade conversions which have all the features / levels of the arcade version. Bubble Bobble on the C64 is as close to the look, gameplay & spirit of the original as you are gonna get. No. As mentioned before. The Master System version is as close as anyone got on...

Bubble Bobble or Buggy Boy on the C64... and yes I disagree completely with Mar there ;) I find it very interesting the love that Bubble Bobble gets on the C64. Even just in this thread many people have put this game in their favourite arcade conversions. I have to ask: Did you guys actually play t...

I own both a DS and a PSP. I think the DS is better. I have 3 games on PSP and over 30 on DS. There aren't any single amazing games on DS, but there's millions of good ones. While on the PSP it has a couple of amazing games, but just about everything else is crap. So it evens out really. But I still...
