Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Finally saw Now you see me, not a bad movie and wouldn't mind seeing the sequel, one for the mystery fan as much as the magic fan.

Re: Castlevania

I haven't played all myself, theres acctually a hell of a lot of them including a fun kidified version called Kid Dracula on the Gameboy, its bloody rare and expensive though so emulations your friend. On terms of loading the 360 version doesn't seem all that different to my Saturn version but the S...

Re: Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

Archon is a brilliant game, but the only similarity to chess is that it is played on a similar looking board. Still well worth playing, but (imho) avoid Archon II. I'll still give it a crack as it's something to do, I know board games arent generally my thing bar Chess and some of the other classic...

Re: Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

I loved Battle chess on the PC would play that at college.. Never liked the design on some of the characters on the 3D0 Battlechess the redesign pawns looked terrible. There was a Star Wars chess game on the Mega CD not sure what it’s like I've probably got it on an old Roms compliation if it was o...

Re: Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

Colossus Chess series were good, the later ones (from 4 onwards) had a nice 3D-ish board view similar to Battle Chess Ran a search on it, there is a modern free to play version mentioned on it's Wiki but I cannot find it any where currently, 2 and 4 pops up a lot but they are pretty much like the C...

Hey Prin, Looks like it'd bug me on the buttons too tbh, they aren't curved to match the fingers on your hand like alot of actual cabs do, its possible the guts are generic so think they are outputting to a stereo TV and they haven't put something in to switch to mono so you're down a channel.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I don't find them as horrific as the Pops in appearance despite not acctually being capable of floating, it's the norm though, one bit of tat carrys on from another eventually just being landfill fodder, I remember the fast succession of them through the 90s and people paying stupid amounts on Beani...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Nice, could you see how it handles pre conversion? Smyths had several of them when a mate dragged me there Pop hunting and I was intrigued. I will be checking it out pre making better. They arent ment to be top notch quality, but for the price its hard to build for less Was going to try to import a...

Re: Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

Battle Chess and its sequels/updates are on GoG: https://www.gog.com/game/battle_chess_special_edition Bit pricey at 9 quid, but at least you know it will run. iirc there was a Star Wars chess game in a similar vein, though my memory is vague, I could be making that up. Deviating slightly, have you...

Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

Was wondering peoples opinions on this, keep meaning to get back into playing chess as I've got several sets and boxes of Chessmen however I'm rusty as hell and only really have myself to play as the Dog just looks at the board and considers which piece to chew rather than move. Obviously theres 10 ...

Re: Is there a way to get the old Windows games on a modern PC?

Pinball works just fine on Windows 10. It's only, after all, using DirectX for the graphics and sound and current versions are backwards compatible with it. Just download the installer (not going to give direct links but it's easy to find) and you're on your way. Same goes for all the Windows 7 gam...

Re: Today

Today I played Solitaire with actual cards for the first time, naturally lost and noticed how bad at shuffling I am with mini cards (using these as can do it on my lap vs needing to lean over a table). Need to think of some games to teach myself, the whole Cardistry things beyond me although the pre...

Re: Today

Good stuff, could see the information card, The Retro Gamer (Retrous playus). If they did have a retro tech section id be a proper shoe in for presenter. Its not the Manchester museum, its the Science museum The former my special skill of "Being ok round corospes" would be great for I understand be...
