Just to let you all know
REJOICE I quit the forum, so you don't all think I was banned. It was fun whilst it not lasted. PS: There's some wrong information floating about from Darren saying that I was banned on other gaming forums, just to set the record straight, I am a longtime member with two other video gaming forums, a...

Re: From the forum issue 115 - Adventure games
C&VG always had the best Adventure column, until Julian Rignall stopped it and ZZAP!64 had its own excellent adventure review pages (as did Atari User).

Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2
Nice thing about Winnie Forster, he thanked me for putting it right, and there might be an erratum in the next issue to put both errors right. That's professional.
Wouldn't happen with the UK Retro Gamer, from my experience here so far (Pengo, Alternate Reality etc...). There's still hope.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 114 Feedback
Worm War I was actually by Dave Lubar who went on to do the mighty A8 masterpiece Pastfinder. Later ported to the C64 but the original was best ;] Yeah, I didn't sort of meant that Turmell wrote Worm War I, I just wanted to make a connection with Wriggler. A8 originals are always the best, tell RG ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 114 Feedback
I liked 114, nice issue. Killer PC games was very good (maybe missed Return to Zork (Activision) which helped kickstarting CD sales for PCs). Dragons Lair was excellent, always wanted to play the Adam version (way back I picked up a cib Adam (with Colecovision) for GBP 35.00, bargain), but I never g...

Re: German Retro Gamer issue 2
You should have done a fact check really. The German edition is completely revised. They even went so far as to alter the occasional UK-biased praise of certain games and systems. Several features have additional info boxes and the like focusing on the German market. On the other hand, they dropped...

Re: From the forum issue 115 - Adventure games
Starcross (Infocom) on A8, I saw this flying saucer box in a computer shop, I thought 'wow what a great packing'. Playing the game was reading like an adventure book, a fascinating experience. After Starcross I was hooked and I enjoyed the excellent games from Infocom on A8 and C64. Best ever. The P...

Re: Collectors needed
could do a piece on the relationship/difference between hoarding and collecting, like why do some people buy everything retro they see whilst others only buy certain things, when does a hobby turn into an obsession, and when does it take over your life. Spoke to loads of people at play expo who cam...

Re: Feature Idea: Early/Late game comparisons on Consoles
It's just amazing how the 2600 went from Combat to Boulder Dash http://atariage.com/2600/screenshots/s_Combat_1.png http://atariage.com/features/contests/BoulderDash/s_boulderdash_2.png Of course programmers figured out how to add RAM into VCS carts (CBS RAM +), or Sara (Activision Pitfall II) or ta...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 114 Feedback
So Mark Turmell was responsible for the awful game which is Gas Hog on VCS.
Turmell = Turmoil (VCS) = 20th Century Fox = Worm War I = Wriggler article: Great and Small. Worm War I, great little shooter on VCS

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 114 Feedback
Yeah looks a good issue, gonna read it at work tomorrow. Just flicking through the platform stuff, too much Mario (ah ok he's the king of the platforms). BTW, Jump Bug is a horizontal and vertical scroller, the first platform game to side scroll and upwards scroll. And (I just found out) Jump Bug ap...
