Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

Again, it all depends on your interpretation of the original question posed: If you are interpreting the question as "Which console had the majority of superior 3d ports/version of games?" then the psx is the winner. However, if you interpret the question as "Which console is more powerful? then the...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

Hmmmm, either I missed something, or I am not as well versed in the English language as I previously thought. :) If we are talking about the general quality of 3d games on the PSX vs Saturn, then the PSX is the superior console. HOWEVER, if, as the thread title suggests, we are simply pitting the po...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

Weird... Having been a hardcore gamer since the early 80s there was never any question of whether I should purchase a Saturn or Playstation when they were released in '95 - I simply purchased both as soon as they were released. However, being a techy junkie, I already knew the specs of the Saturn ra...

Re: Less "repeats", more indepth information.

Could not agree more!

Seeing a bunch of games in boxes is pretty bland, but seeing a C64 set up with IDE64, SD2IEC running on an LCD monitor via an S-video adapter and connected to a sound system, well thats just beautiful. :)

Re: Less "repeats", more indepth information.

I'd like to think that the REGULAR buyers of Retro Gamer were retro gaming enthusiasts... the same sort of enthusiasts that find all aspects of retro gaming interesting, not just the games themselves. I have no doubt that any casual readers would prefer a dumbed down read simply covering the games t...

Re: Less "repeats", more indepth information.

Btw - thanks guys for the support.... for a while I thought I may have been posting in the wrong forum.... :)

Oh, and an article on the lesser known Commodores would be nice - C16, Vic 20 etc. Just a thought.

Re: Less "repeats", more indepth information.

Fair enough, it may stop you, but it may entice many more. On the subject of 10-15 pages, I think you guys may have misunderstood! What I meant was a special on a SYSTEM - C64, Spectrum etc, 10-15 pages long. Could me comprised of a few pages covering the development and history (background to how i...

Re: Less "repeats", more indepth information.

Wow! I must say I am VERY surprised. The vast majortiy of retro fanatics I know revel in the hardware of retro systems as much as the games (there is almost always interesting stories behind the creation of iconic systems - these stories are usually far more interesting than "Ocean farmed out the Sp...

Less "repeats", more indepth information.

Hey guys, I believe I have EVERY Retro Gamer mag since issue 1 (had to fill ina few gaps but got there in the end). As a long time collector and retro gaming consoles and computers I have found Retro gamer to be the most enjoyable read in many years, however, I have a couple of issues I would like t...
