Re: Amiga Platformer Games Recommendations

I can't believe no one has mentioned Turrican!? And still no one has mentioned Turrican II !!! All my other favourites have been mentioned. A few underdogs that I've a soft spot for are Lethal Weapon, Robocop 2, and Rolling Ronny. Worth a look after you tried the best. Leander is a beautiful game b...

Re: Alien Breed for iOS - split screen sshot

This almost feels overdue but I'm not complaining. Looks great and I'm intrigued by the mention of different dual stick controls. How about some new levels too.

Re: How long did you spend in......Arcades ?

9 hours a day, 6 days a week, for the 2 months I worked as a cashier in an arcade. This was back in the late 90s, in a fairly uninspiring place but still mostly game focused considering the rise of fruit machines. Every lunch break I would spend about an hours worth of wages on quick games like Soul...

Re: Possible Taboo subject...but could you be...

But I can go weeks without playing a single game sometimes. So no, maybe im a binge gamer  That's the one. There's definitely people with an addiction but I'm a binger. I played a lot of GT5 during the first 3 months, and when I wasn't playing it was left on with the B-spec drivers racking up ...

Good calls on Vanishing Point, Destroy All Monsters, Star Crash, Watership Down, The Warriors, Eraserhead, The General. Return of the Living Dead (1985) - My favourite zombie flick, fast, gorey, mucky, and with a decent punk soundtrack. The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) - Classic bit of sword and s...

Re: Introduce yourself

May as well. My first computer was a Plus/4, soon followed by my longest serving friend an Amiga 500 till it's final guru. These days I'm probably more of a retro gamer than modern one, but only for lack of time. I try to play a bit of everything. Have a PS3 for my HD fix. I'm a long time member of ...

Re: Your Most Desirable 8-bit Micro?

I've no technical know-how to speak of and yet sometimes I find myself longing for a Kaypro II. Much like a young boy who has discovered his dads 'magazine' collection. I've no idea what I'll do with it, it just looks right and I want to touch it.

Re: most ridiculous MEGA RARE on ebay?

If you don't mind another amazon link I've been stunned by these before. For the pleasure of 240 pages of BBC Micro Programming Goodness. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adventure-Games-B-C-Micro/dp/0003830802/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1340126532&sr=1-9 And that's with 2 copies available - competition ...

Re: textadventures.co.uk

Not had a chance to go through this site yet, but am loving the advancement of text adventures getting online over the past few years.

Surely the game 'Sutekh Is Hiding In Your Priory' is a blatant Dr Who reference. Made me chuckle.

Re: Games that gaming time forgot...

Do many people remember Bug Bomber? Don't hear it mentioned often. Spent a lot of time on that over the years, people generally write it off as an inferior bomberman but I also thought it's better, faster, more complex. Four players gets seriously frenetic.

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Completed Journey to the Centre of the Earth, 70s TRS-80 adventure. Short, average, amusing enough. Absolutely nothing to do with the book other than having broken down whilst on the way to the centre of the earth and messing about in a bizarre cave trying to fix it. Not as catchy a title though.
