Re: Teletext

Way back in the mid-80s I wrote regular articles for BBC 2 CEEFAX in the NEXT computer section. Put together using our BBC Model B and post floppy disks to the editor, before he persuaded me to subscribe to Prestel and Micronet so I could upload my articles using a 1200 Baud modem that came free wit...

Re: Retro Boardgames

We had loads of board games when I was a kid growing up in the 70s... Connect 4 Frustration Battleships Escape from Colditz Monopoly (a 1960s edition) Scrabble Mastermind Mini-Mastermind Star Wars Doctor Who Space: 1999 The Six Million Dollar Man ... and between myself and my siblings I think we've ...

Re: Ps1- future classic?

Blimey... It will be 20 years ago next year that I went to work for Sony on that new-fangled PlayStation console. How time flies! I didn't stick around for very long, but it was an interesting period none-the-less. I got to see all the early tech demos (the walking T-Rex, etc.), the development mach...

Re: Look-in

I used to get Look-in from the very early 70s until 1978. I even had a letter published in a December 1977 issue. The start of my illustrious magazine writing career! ;-)

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 111 - Feedback Thread

My highlight of the month was the Carrier Command article - really enjoyed that - I wonder if we could get a Realtime FTA... Glad you liked it. I have a fair bit of history with 'Carrier' so it was nice to be asked to write that one. In chatting to Ian, Gary and Ricardo a few fascinating documents ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 111 - Feedback Thread

wonderful issue. Could only have been better if they'd used that Carrier Command cover - is it really less iconic than Lode Runner? (Maybe in the states) I really thought that after ten adhoc years of writing for Retro Gamer I had finally got a cover... only for it to be cruelly snatched away. Just...

Elite Dangerous in danger of missing it's kickstarter target

I've got connections to the old Elite so I had to join and donate. However, looking at the total and looking at how long there is to go as of today, I am firmly of the opinion that Elite: Dangerous is not going to hit it's kickstarter target. Now, I think most people know that the reason why video g...

Re: Issue 106 feedback thread

Your wish is my command! I did the same a while back looking for pocketeers. Had a bit of success Search for Pocket mate or Murata (who do the apps) as that must be the common name in Japan perhaps. There's 3 on the app store Field athletics is one I had as a kid, like an assault course kinda thing...

Re: Issue 106 feedback thread

(I'd love to see a Game & Watch piece sometime...) Again, as in recent months, there was a nice variety of subjects covered. I would love to see some classic retro compilations released for the Game and Watch and the Grandstand games. On the app store theres a few decent Game and Watch 'tribute' ga...

Re: Issue 106 feedback thread

Great issue, good to see an abundance of Commodore stuff this month, well over due i think. Couldn't believe that Liberation was in there this month  , i only bought the A1200 AGA version a few weeks ago. Sadly though my copy doesn't want to work  , couldn't be bothered to send it back ...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 105

I for one wouldn't mind reading an article in RG about life in the industry back in the '80s featuring interviews with some of the less well known industry names that helped bring us the games we enjoyed. Well, a fair number of the articles I've done down the years for RG target those very people (...

Sorry, a bit late to this party! As a big fan of Kick Off 2 back in the day, the original project manager on Sensible Soccer (I did end up doing some bug hunting and freelance PM on it once it switched publishers), a bug hunter and manual writer for 'Dino Dini's Goal!' and a Luton Town supporter and...
