Re: "wii u dead already"

However, let's be honest about F-Zero, Star Fox and Pilotwings. They're not hot properties any more, and haven't really been since the N64 days. The attempts to bring the latter two back on the 3DS weren't terribly successful. Surely those three games are exactly what they should be releasing on th...

Re: wii U

the Wii U one is arguably the best of all the 'New' SMB games, especially with the return of the SNES-style world map. Agreed. In fact I'd say it's the best side scrolling Mario game since Super Mario World, and it's no coincidence that the game pays homage to both that game and Mario Bros 3. I'd r...

Re: Wii U Owners Thread

Purchased New Super Mario Bros U today. I love it! Feels alot fresher than I was expecting, though that may be due to the fact that I've avoided the Wii NSMB games.

Re: Super Smash TV

I assume that the SNES version uses the ABXY buttons as a secondary stick allowing you to play the game properly with only one pad. I used to play this on Snes back in the early 90's. It did indeed have the ABXY buttons firing up, down, left and right, allowing you to run in one direction, and gun ...

Re: Your Top 5 Games Of All Time

Super Mario Kart (Snes)
Final Fantasy VI (Snes)
Final Fantasy VII (Playstation)
Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)

I can't decide on a fifth!

Lets say Super Bomberman (Snes)

Though it would probably change tomorrow.

Re: Dr Who - the old series - your recommendations

I'd say most Pertwee and Tom Baker stories are worth watching, with the odd exception, and the transition between those two doctors probably encapsulated the golden age of classic Doctor Who. I'd recommend: City of Death- Set on location in Paris, complete with the Tardis landing on the Eiffel Tower...

Sugar Puffs sticker kits from the late 80s. Just little books of stickers but I remember asking for Sugar Puffs, even though I didn't like them much, just to get them.

Re: Chrono Trigger VS Final Fantasy 6

Final Fantasy 6 has a better cast of characters, a better story, a brilliant soundtrack (Look it up on Itunes) and it was the first FF I played (SNES import) back in the 90s. Though Chrono Trigger is also a great game (with a better battle system and less linear plot) I would rate FF better overall(...

Re: R.I.P Nintendo Gamer

Going off on a slight tangent, is anyone else here old enough to remember Total! magazine- The first Nintendo only mag from Future. Now that could be quite childish- the writers were Steve 'misery guts' Jarratt and Andy 'Thicky' Dyer; Words like 'gimp' and 'flongy' were used quite alot- that sorta t...

Beat the Beat- Rhythm Paradise. Who'd have thought pressing one button (or on occasion two) would be so much fun!

Re: R.I.P Nintendo Gamer

I bought nearly every copy of Super Play back in the day (yes I'm old). Never owned an N64 or GC so didn't buy those mags. I started buying Nintendo Gamer about a year ago when they changed the format (to be honest I was always put off before then because the bag it came in- with free gift- did make...
