Re: Your LEAST favourite console / computer
In terms of least favourite machine- does the CDTV count? I mean, what the hell was it for? What was it meant to be? Did Commodore just have a job lot of CD drives lying around and no good idea what to do with it? Commodore intended the CDTV to be a "multimedia entertainment system" and not a compu...

Lots of stuff.
Amiga 4000, a working Amiga CDTV, 3DO, Amstrad GX4000, Commodore C64GS, Atari STE, Atari Mega ST .... lots of other stuff.

Re: Most unreliable retro console
I can think of a few candidates: Amiga 500+ - clock battery leakage is a problem on these, same for some of the later "big box" models like the A2000, A3000 & A4000. Amiga 500/500+ - I went through lots of internal floppy drives back in the day. Amstrad CPC 664, 6128 & Spectrum +3 - those 3" drives ...

Re: Failed console you would most like to own
I voted "Amstrad GX4000" - we all know I'm probably the only Amstrad fan on here.
I already own a CD32, so I cannot "most like to own" as I already own it.

Re: Amiga Repair
Usually this is caused by the leakage destroying the on-board RAM.
The RAM chips are soldered to the A500/A500 Plus motherboard.
It may e just as cost effective to buy a replacement A500+ motherboard from ebay.

Re: PLAY Expo Manchester, EventCity, 10/11 October '15
Rather mixed for me to be honest. I've found this Play Expo to be a bit stresful, which is unusual. To start off with, I was assisting RCM and exhibiting some of my own kit - I got there on the Friday evening 2 hours later than initially planned, and everybody had buggered off so I had a wasted trip...

Re: Biggest System Flaws
A few flaws spring to mind, but then these are probably a sign of the times. Spectrum - dead flesh keyboard, beeper sound, colour clash, limited colour palette, no internal joystick port to begin with. Commodore 64 - custom tape deck connector, blocky graphics compared to the Speccy, sometimes had a...

Re: Machines you dislike, that you actually own.
Believe it or not, although I'm not a massive Spectrum fan, I own 4 of them (48k, +2, +2a and +3) I'm still impressed with the quality of the software and what was achieved with it, I just find it's limitations annoying when it's next to the C64 or CPC. Once the Amstrad takeover had happened, I star...

Re: Your LEAST favourite console / computer
Controversial opinion coming, please don't flame me for the this .... the ZX Spectrum, in fact .... anything from Sinclair. I'm not anti-Spectrum or anti-Sinclair .... the games produced for the system were of a great quality, it's amazing what was produced for the machine .... however, the hardware...

What's with all these "best machine" threads?
We've got "best 90s machine", "best 16-bit machine" - a lot of duplication going on here.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Well, I've been to Eurocon last weekend and also been stopping in Preston this week leading up to Play Expo at the end of the week. Anyway, I've been "flashing the cash" a bit and have bought some nice things this week: Nintendo Gamecube, Simpsons Hit & Run and Star Wars Rogue Leader. Super Nintendo...

Re: Robocop vs Terminator, and other forgotten classics
I have hardly ever heard anyone mention robocop vs terminator on any of the "best games" threads, yet it is easily one of my favourite Megadrive games ever and I think received good reviews at the time I'm going to 100% agree with you on this. I never played it at the time (I didn't own a Megadrive...

Re: Amstrad Speccy C64 - hit squad range
I've got lots of Hit Squad releases for Amstrad and Speccy. They all look nice and "uniform" when on the shelf together and stacked nicely. I also really like the design of the inlay cards, that dark blue/black theme with the banner across is nice. It's a simple system to show which system a game is...
