Re: Blu Ray vs DVD
I still buy Blu-Ray and DVD. I use the BR release of Star Trek as a cut off point. Before, DVD, after, Blu-Ray. With some exceptions such as Forbidden Planet. DVDs are only a quid at my local Cash Converter. The picture quality of a Blu-Ray far surpasses a DVD but, I will buy an older film on DVD as...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Predators is worth a watch. Love the RPG characterisations. See the inmate make his one hit point prison shank really count. I have recently watched:- Paprika - Anime, The chairman wants to control the power of your dreams Guyver The Dark Hero - Westernised version of the ultimate bio-armour Machete...

Re: Lone Wolf Game Books.
See what happens when you post before scrolling. Just mentioned these in the Fighting Fantasy post. I did enjoy these much more than Fighting Fantasy. The combat, items, and levelling all seemed to work better. The plot lines were also more exciting for a 12 year old player.

Re: Fighting Fantasy
I played Warlock of Firetop Mountain. And, I beleive it was called Lone Wolf by another publisher. But, never played any others. I always expected a video game version. And am surprised that no one has plundered this IP goldmine. Vagrant Story is the closest thing to a VG take on this I believe.

Re: When does the PS2 become "retro"?
Exactly, since Retro Gamer does not recognise the PS1 as retro (Are we there yet?), there's no way the PS2 is...Antiriad2097 wrote:In about 20 years time. Maybe more. It'll be a while anyway, since even PS1 isn't retro yet.

I like new games. I don't like new prices. Pre-owned for me.edy wrote:I wait till the prices go down before buying recent stuff, have plently of games to keep me occupied while waiting for the price to drop.

Yes, BBC Drama (tm). Not what it was these days. All written by nepotic post-grads in touch with da peeple. It's the Wurther's Originals version of the 70's.Katzkatz wrote:I watched 3 more episodes of the BBC drama 'White Heat'. So so.

Hoping to see it this weekend. Either that or Lockout. Lockout, good script. Battleship, SPECIAL EFFECTS. So, I think it will be Battleship. I'll let you know if you can wait.Joey wrote:Has anyone seen Battleship yet?
Seems to have poor reviews but i love scifi/alien films and im ok with a bit of mediocrity.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Have just recently watched Limitless - an interesting premise, the whole smart drug thing that cropped up in the nineties appears to have died a death. And Legion - wafer thin plot, what, why, what happened, what for, what next? And more shell casings on the floor than Lord of War. As for Sucker Punch W...

Re: Game endings - the good, the bad, and the shocking
My fave endings are:-
Final Fantasy VII
Flashback
Gunstar Heroes
Omega Boost
Highway Encounter
Thunderforce IV
I remember being bitterly disappointed at the end of
Doom/Final Doom
All that and all you get is a static text screen.
