Re: Alien breed trilogy

Not really worth it... at least, that's my impression after trying a demo. Too busy, too chaotic and feels nothing like the original Alien Breed. It's not even very good at what it does.

Re: Games released with different names in different regions

I loved Operation Stealth by Delphine Software on the Amiga back in the days, because it was so much like a James Bond adventure game. Later I found out that in the US, it was actually called James Bond - the Stealth Affair , and that it wasn't called that here in Europe because of licensing issues.

Re: PS1 vs PS2 discussion expanded

I prefer the PS1 but this is mainly because I bought one soon after launch not several years later like the PS2. The original is the more significant, as it played a massive role in making gaming cool and adult. The PS2 just built on these strengths. I didn't "discover" the PS1 until 98, so I was a...

Re: Do Games Get Better With Technology?

Technology gives the developers more possibilities, and the potential for better games is there.

Unfortunately, developers seems to get worse by the minute. With a few exceptions of course.

Re: Bloody PES Option files!!!!!!

Again with the pretending that opinions are facts. I think PES 2011 is a return to form, and perhaps even the best PES game yet. FIFA is good, but I just don't "feel" it, as I "feel" PES 2011. If you said PES 2008, 2009 or 2010, I would probably agree that FIFA was the better game, but with PES 2011...

Re: Bloody PES Option files!!!!!!

I'm sorry, but right now, FIFA is a lot better than PES and I'm not saying that as a FIFA fan! You must've not spent many hours in PES 2011. It's truly a return to form. I've tried FIFA plenty of times, and the last one was FIFA World Cup 2010, and although they're great games, they just don't hold...

Re: Bloody PES Option files!!!!!!

Use Defade's option file. Perfect for me, who only wants every team in the game to have it's correct name and kit and emblems. Here: http://www.evo-web.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=60985 It's the most basic option file you can get. And don't blame Konami for the lack of licenses, when EA has most o...

Re: driver

I don't remember it being any more difficult, other than the on-foot sections being bad. But then again, I'm the only one I know who's completed all three first Driver games without cheating in any way. You can expect tough difficulty when it comes from the guys who made Shadow of the Beast.

Re: driver

I'd say the first two games could be considerd classics, but I haven't played the second in a while, so I don't remember why people dislike it so much. Was it the framerate? I had tons of fun with Driver 2, and found it an improvement over the original at the time. At the very least, the first game ...

Re: What is considered retro?

Retro can be very subjective. For me it's games from an era that I'm particularly nostalgic about. The last 2D consoles and the Amiga would be from that era. Some games from the PS1 era also feels nostalgic, but I gotta admit it doesn't evoke a particularly strong nostalgia in me. It's there, but ve...

Re: Favourite Games To P**s About With

Recently, Red Faction: Guerilla was better when you just drove around causing havoc. It's so easy to lost track of time and forget about doing missions when you're in the middle of demolishing the main structure of a building with just a hammer, so that the whole thing comes crashing down while you ...

Re: Uncharted Alternative? (for Xbox)

Alan Wake is more of mix between Silent Hill game and a Stephen King novel. Not like Uncharted at all, other than being third persion and having shooting. Just Cause more or less shares the same similarities, plus an exotic setting. Much closer to GTA than Uncharted. Enslaved is probably the one tha...

Re: First Game Ever Bought?

I have a very vague memory of buying Strider or Chase HQ on cassette for the C64. I seem to remember buying one of them, then trading it in for the other, or something like that. My only clear memory of buying games from the C64 days was when I saved up enough money (took me three weeks) to buy The ...

Re: Sensible Soccer and Speedball 2.......

Prepare yourself for some weird names though, because they mixed up the letters a bit to avoid licensing issues. How come? Does it include up-to-date players and teams (as of time of re-release)? I'd have thought that if it's a port of the old game which had real player names back then, then the li...
