Re: Issue 72 feedback thread....

I really like you column Iain and I think it always comes across the affection you have for your subject matter. I think if you didn't then it wouldn't get the warm reception it obviously does - i think anyone excited at the sight of a tomytronic for £1.50 at a car boot sale needs the ability to lau...

Re: Issue 72 feedback thread....

I'd be REALLY interested to see them and I can't be the only person who would (I hope!) We should get a delegation from the Trade Federation to contact the wonderous community of IF-ers and put pressure on 'the man' (sorry Darran ;)) Back when the piece ran about Fergus from Delta 4 I thought we wer...

Re: Issue 72 feedback thread....

Even as a lover of the text adventure you can't help but laugh :)

I suppose everyone has their niche they are clamouring for RG to cover regularly and this one is most definitely mine

Re: Issue 72 feedback thread....

Plenty of good stuff as usual - looking forward to the Fallout stuff... BUT Mr Iain Lee... 'it has been a while since they did a piece on text adventures' my heart jumped for joy... at last, I thought, at last they will get a few meagre mentions here and there, perhaps a 'classic game' of Lurking Ho...

*Gets ready to duck and cover* Just leafed through it last night and have to be honest at first glance there weren't any SNK games I would be interested in revisiting. Just my personal taste of course - not saying they're rubbish! And I do realise that I probably would have said the same thing about...

I think I always bang on about the fact that there should me more coverage of text adventure games so I'll say it again MORE COVERAGE ON TEXT ADVENTURE GAMES and then go on to say that this has been the best non-adventure issue for ages! Archer - Back on form with this, felt like it was getting a bi...

I agree with SO much of what BlueMax said - the wii (huh huh) business, the PSP emulation is brilliant and sometimes the only chance I get to play retro games. Japanese games... MMORG... WWHAT? Mmmore SSPECCY CPC and CC64... Did I already mention that there should be more coverage of Adventure games...

In the adventure games world it used to be sections called 'Just for laughs...' and you would get weird lists of things to type The Hobbit -Refuse Elrond's Sandwich Boggit -Don't give the aliens the Barkenstone in Part 3 Big Sleaze -Try kissing men! Zork II - Say "Plugh" try 'em all.... they all wor...

I hadn't really seen the 11th hour and after I failed at guest (in a Tetris meets Othello crossover game) I wasn't sure whether to continue... perhaps another RG feature...?

Yes but I wasn't smart enough to finish it back in the day, really need to restart it. Dunno if you remember one called 7th Guest which was (I think) on the CDI or Jaguar as well as PC and remembered absolutely pissing it back in the day. Bought it on ebay and Got 2/3rds of the way through before g...

Ah yes but there is the 'forgotten' game beaurocracy which is well worth exploring - perhaps they could be smaller parts of a larger feature on conversions from book to game... Hitch Hikers, Dracula (unlikely Bram Stoker will be available for comment), Frankenstein (ditto Shelley), Colour of Magic (...

woo and yay! Haven't played that since I had my A600... is it a personal favourite of yours? Delphine also responsible for the fine Flashback (for my sins I completed that one with a French dictionary because we, like everyone else, had a pre-English release French version). I no longer condone pira...
