I'm excited that we're nearly at the end of the current spine run and there hasn't been a mistake yet. So many eye-catching features this month, I don't know which one to start with.

For me A Link to the Past is the game that best captures the essence of Zelda. Perfect in every respect, with evergreen graphics, and if you played it, as I did, as a youngster on your SNES when it originally came out (in the UK, that is) it's something that stays with you forever. Despite its well ...

I had a brief flick through this morning. It looks to be a great issue, but issue 50 looks to be the best of them all.

Things can be revisited more than once. For instance after this issue's Definitive on 194X I'd quite like for there to be a 'masterclass' guide on games like this in the magazine to help me stop being so rubbish at them.

When my parents bought me a Spectrum for Christmas, I hadn't asked for one, or even knew what one was. With it I got this 'thing' which I think was called 'Prey'. I'm not even sure it was a game and I can't find any mention of it on the net. I also got this cassette called 'Make-a-Chip' and a copy ...

My subs copy of ish 46 hasn't arrived yet. I wasn't expecting it to arrive until the weekend, but now I see lots of people received it before Christmas. Is there any need for me to be concerned in the way only a nerd could be concerned about the non-arrival of a magazine yet?

The spine. OMG, the spine run has been ballsed up for the second run in a row. Can't you just cut your losses and start using blank spines from now on to avoid any further trauma? Anyway, now I've given my review of Issue 40's spine, I'll try to make time to read the mag this evening so I can give m...

History of The Simpsons games

Could you consider doing an article on The Simpsons games? Opportunistically times to coincide with the movie's release, obviously :) Last night, I came across an old copy of Escape from Camp Deadly that I bought but never bothered playing. So I tried it and it was a bit awful but not completely awf...

That's another striking cover. I keep expecting Retro Gamer to inevitably go downhill slightly after having had such a good run over the last year or so, but this issue looks like another great one. I hope you'll be spending this month working on an amazing new spine now we can finally say goodbye t...

Re:

We're not Crash or Zzap, so don't expect a Christmas themed issue. My Xmas have just received maximum damage. OK, so Retro Gamer's Xmas issue is cancelled, but just a bit of snow on the logo won't upset the Muslim retro gaming community. Edit: Ooh, forgot. Another great issue. More comments as I re...

Issue 31 sure does have a purdy face, and the content looks good, but I quickly jumped to the next month page, hoping we might get a Christmas special for the next issue, but it looks decidedly 'unfestive'.

RG30 is another brilliant issue from start to finish in terms of articles. Start eradicating the typos and you've got perfection :)

Shigeru Miyamoto's games in particular are drawn from childhood memories and have a sense of adventure, both in terms of gameplay and innovation. Nintendo is still about escapism in a time when too many other developers strive to offer realism in their games.
