Re: Photo's of your retro collection.

It's a log cabin, the roof and floor are insulated and the walls are 44mm wood that I applied wood preserver inside and out to. The glass in the doors and windows is double glazed. I've checked and there's never been any condensation (unlike my actual house oddly!)

Re: Photo's of your retro collection.

Hi Everyone!

After a year of saving I finally got my giant shed to set all my retro games up. Here are 3 pics of the setup so far.

Mushroom Kingdom Fusion

Found this at work the other day as an alternative to doing work

It's incomplete, but you can play Mario as Link! Or Sonic! They've also given each character its own mechanics so it's not just a cosmetic change

Re: Android Handheld Gaming Tablets

I'm happy to say that the XD is everything I wanted and more! It's an Android device, so there's tons of emulators to choose from. It's reasonably sturdy, the button layout is well thought out (i.e. stolen from the Playstation controller layout!) I've only played a couple of Android games on it - it...

Re: Spectrum Emulator

Thanks for the replies everyone - I've given ZXSpin a go and it seems to do the job nicely. Haven't had a chance to try out Fuse yet, but I will. I tried another one called ZX32 that very oddly when you do a save state, brings up a requestor with a little pic of Clive Sinclair's face and tells you t...

Spectrum Emulator

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a good Spectrum emulator for Windows please? I've tried Zero, which wasn't bad, but my new Windows 10 laptop doesn't like it. Also ZXSpectrum4Net which I wasn't mad on. Ideally it should do full screen, save states, pokes and accept USB control pad input. Any suggestions...

Thanks for the replies!

I think I'll go for the GPD XD - I like the clamshell design.

Android Handheld Gaming Tablets

Hi All, I've been using a GPS caanoo for handheld gaming: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAANOO But was looking to replace this sometime soon as although it's brilliant for most things, the Amiga emulator has no save state and the PS1 emulator needs over-clocking for lots of games which means it ch...

Re: Cassette Wall

Was going to go with only Amstrad games, as that's the computer I owned; but they seem more expensive than C64 or Spectrum ones on eBay. Will probably go to the quality Retro Game Base in Streatham and get a mixture from there. Even if it's a pound a cassette this will be an expensive door!

Cassette Wall

I went to the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge yesterday. It's an amazing place and well worth a visit. One of the coolest things they had was the greatest wall ever, it was made entirely of 8bit casette boxes! https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3731/11780618023_a1b2c889b0.jpg Gave me a (hopeful...

Re: CPC Emulator With Graphics Filters

Hehe, fair enough. Maybe I should just play the games on my normal 17" TV monitor and not the 42" plasma next to it that makes it seem like I'm playing Legoland Dizzy!

CPC Emulator With Graphics Filters

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know an Amstrad CPC emulator with graphics filters/smoothers. I've tried WinAPE, CPCe and Arnold and they just offer basic blending.

Thanks,
Rob.

Re: First person dungeon crawlers

The first two Eye of the Beholder games were brilliant, third one was a bit of a let down. Knightmare was another quality one, your characters could be multiple classes just by giving them the correct weapon or wand and letting them use it for a while. Captive and Liberation by the same author are w...

Master System 3D Glasses On Flatscreen TV

Does anyone know if the Master System's 3D glasses will work on a plasma/LCD/LED TV? I Googled it but some said it does, some said it doesn't, and others were talking about adjusting refresh rates.

Thanks,
Robin.
