Re: Food/Drink from the past

I actually got one of the x40 boxes of space raiders from Costco not long ago. Think it was a fiver. Sadly it seems to be an intermittent product for them. They have started regularly doing mixed boxes of snaps, chipsticks and bacon fries though :D

Re: Is this racist

It's a shame people jump to conclusions and don't think or do a bit of research The guy is 60+, he is of the generation who will have used the original rhyme in its racist context. He is also very unlikely to have watch the walking dead given his age and occupation - vicar. There is no branding on t...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

good grief! what I'm getting at, is that this babbling talk of apocalyptic consequences is just complete nonsense, pure drivel peddled by the bed wetting left who have worked themselves into a raging fury that the real people don't actually think the same way they do. I agree, but I'd class trump i...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

this country won't collapse when we officially "leave", I am 100% certain about that. and Trump won't start world war 3 (Hilary may have done), I'm certain about that too. hope this helps Not really to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at. If it is that massively over reacting c...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

To be fair, Lost World is a decent sequel that was at least based on a Michael Crichton book (as was the original movie) and only changed the ending to add a bit more 'Hollywood' to the formula. A bit ?! The film is damn entertaining, mind you. I remember having to sit in the front row when I went ...

Some of the things modern bible belt america do can be pretty archaic - lynchings, polygamy etc. Different shades of the same nuttiness!

Re: Alcohol linked to at least 7 cancers

Don't chow down on a big lump of uranium A high level of background radiation tends to actually be beneficial in preventing cancer, as it stimulates the immune system to break down incorrectly functioning cancerous cells so malignant cancer doesn't get a chance to multiply. There is a place in Iran...

Re: Food/Drink from the past

Anyone remember Bugles when Golden Wonder used to make them? Loved them. Around in the early 2000s not sure if they were before that. Tried the new Walkers versions but they are too puffy, the GW ones were crisper and had a smooth texture on the inside and I'm sure were more of a nacho type flavour...

Re: Holidays

Had a week in Norfolk last week, bit of rain at the start but not bad for most of it. Hunstanton is a bit of a convalescent's town..

Get bored stiff on holidays, usually just sit there thinking how much I could be getting done round the house. Sitting on a beach is my idea of hell, get bored stiff.

Re: Alcohol linked to at least 7 cancers

Everything can be linked to giving cancer. It seems that way sometimes but....no. It literally is though, simply put cancer is the degradation of DNA and so the instructions for how a cell normally operates. It can happen to cells in complete homeostasis over their lifespan, but typically is trigge...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

I know I should not, but I watched one of those benefit programs on channel 5 last night. I got so angry I wanted to smash my TV. So much about the program and its 'stars' pisses me off I am not even sure where to begin. I saw that, the couple from Leeds with their mouths always permanently open by...

Re: Your favourite mods for a game?

Black Mesa , the mod that turns Half-Life 2 into a full remake of H-L1. Is that now fully released inc the Xen levels? I played it back when that was all that was available, it was great. Too many mods to mention for Elder Scrolls/Fallout games, they really do make great games perfect. Total Annihi...

Re: Best/worst franchise deviations

Worst ones are :- Dune II - A very good take on the Dune universe and probably the granddaddy of all RTSes. Whilst, the original game did have a certain amount of RTS stuff(the harvesting and moving your armies around) - it was more of an adventure game(it's still really good and is probably oversh...
