Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
have PS3s gone up in value? I thought the cheapest/smallest-gig were 30/40 pounds in CEX a couple of years ago, but now they all seem more.

Re: What are you currently playing?
I absolutely LOVED Destruction Derby 2's music at the time. It's by 2 bands called Jug and Tuscan, who I assume now were small/local UK nu metal bands, but I knew nothing of nu metal or any metal at the time. I'd barely heard anything heavier than Queen. I was just amazed at how bassy, groovy and ru...

I always thought Earthworm Jim would get a longer reign as a big character than what he got. It amazes me that Spyro and Crash are still in the charts but not ol Jimmy

Re: Car salesmen
I had a really creepy experience five years ago with a salesman who wanted me to buy perfume from his stand which I worked near. He kept following me round repeating "for your mum or sister" and "£100 down to £15" in a droning, slow voice. He had obviously learned some kind of hypnotic technique he ...

Re: Do you talk to people in real life like that?
I remember before the net was widespread knowing "fanboy" people in real life who were just as bad as the most zealous forum chatters. I had a friend at college who was a nintendo fan who went nuts at me because I told him I was planning to buy X Box instead of Gamecube, nagged me daily about it, an...
Re: Today
I found in a charity shop a copy of the 1998 video game and pinball world records book by Twin Galaxies Arcade score-keeper Walter Day. The best part of the book was the second half which was actually made up of his memoirs, giving hilarious stories about all the people who he has known on the high ...

Re: Scary washing machine advert?
When I was a 5 yr old kid in France, the big Supermarket Cora had a Xmas advert where 2 kids would be stuck in Cora at night, and Santa would come down the pipe and play with them all night in the store...it made me censored myself and refuse to go in Cora ever, thinking I would be locked in there a...

My best arcade memory is playing the Simpsons scrolling beat em up in 1990 or so on holiday. We all got into it, even my mum and dad.

Re: Awful 16-bit Platformers
Does anyone remember the Frosties Tiger 2D platformer that came free with Frosties (on cd rom) sometime around 15 years ago? I was so bored I completed it! It like the worst generic Mega Drive style platformer.

Re: Characters who died in Cartoons
In the 90s X Men one of the X Men died in the first episode. It wasn't a comic character, some no name character they made up just for the episode to shock you and show how dark the show was. I'm sure they must have killed some people in Batman TAS.

Re: Oh how times have changed...
I miss having a good kid-friendly game arcade and the thrill of seeing the new games come in, like the new mortal kombat etc. I guess today's kids don't even know that they're missing that. I'm not sure about the facts of why there are still some milk rounds but I have seen some early morning floats...
