Re: New Retro Gamer Collection Volume 7 bookazine

Got one. :D

Local WHSmith had 2 on the shelves - and happily one of them wasn't horribly damaged!!
(the other was in an absolutely pitiful condition).

This one slipped past me.... I'll have to check WHSmiths tomorrow.

Anyone know how long it's been out :?:

Re: NeoGeo X Classics: Volume 1 due April

From what I've read the 15 games mentioned are actually spread across 5 *carts* (i.e. not all on one mega cart), with the first of the 5 anthology releases having only 3 games on it. These are: *Metal Slug *Sengoku *Top Hunter see: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/neo-geo-x-classics-volume-1-bundle...

Re: is it me or is anyone else having problems with the foru

I get a page with the message below in about 1 in every 3 pages I attempt to look at here. A quick refresh/reload usually sorts it out, but not always. It's a small complaint I know, but it sure gets annoying after a while. :( The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the...

Re: Snipe bidding on ebay

I've absolutely no problem with sniping on Ebay... it just comes with the terrority I'm afraid. I just accept it and ALWAYS expect it when I'm bidding on something. HOWEVER, there is something else which has been really bugging me about ebay a lot recently - so called EBay Arbitrage!!! This is the t...

Re: The Game Gadget

Gaming Media- Keep at the lying so and sos and don't let them away with this sort of thing. They keep contradicting themselves, breaking their own promises and deadlines, yet STILL don't feel all the criticism is justified. FFS. Re: Your favourite all time gaming magazine is?

'The One' (for 16-bit games) was my favourite gaming magazine by a long way back in the day (late 80s-early 90s). Simply brilliant. :D

Honourable mentions for:
ST Action
ST Format

Re: SNK Handheld

Launches this Thursday (Dec 6th) IIRC. So did anyone take the plunge and order :?: Despite the fact it looks really nice, I came to the conclusion that £185 is WAY too much to pay for what is essentially a 'console on a chip'. Just not worth the dosh for what it is IMHO... :( Interestingly, the main...

Re: Retro Gamer let's name the top 200 16-bit games

Eliminator (platform: ST/Amiga) John Phillip's relentless 3D Shooter 'Eliminator' gets a shout from me. The action is intense, the graphics are ace and the music fits the pace and mood of the game just perfectly. Definitely worthy of a place in any top 200 countdown IMHO. http://www.atarilegend.com...

Re: Retro Gamer let's name the top 200 16-bit games

Lemmings Okay, I guess I'll be the one to inevitably drop Lemmings onto the list. A Genre defining, mind-bending, real time strategy game that was so simple in concept it was a thing of beauty. It spawned what seemed like a zillion sequels across god knows how many formats, however, did any really ...

Re: Retro Gamer let's name the top 200 16-bit games

Kick off 2 http://kaillera.abime.net/KickOff2.gif Never enjoyed this in the same way as the original Kick Off on the Atari ST. There was a looseness/fluidity in the controls of the original which was lost in the more refined action of the sequel. Yes, you don't have the 'bells and whistles' of the ...

3. Xenon Shiny metal, spinning gun turrets... what's not to like! It looks fantastic even today to this ole eye. One of the best vertical shoot-em ups of all time no doubt. (Opinion based on Atari ST + Amiga versions) http://www.atarilegend.com/includes/showscreen.php?screenshot_id=11356&ext=png

Re: SNK Handheld

If blaze are the only people selling this then you may not be able to buy this anywhere else - except ebay and it super inflated prices. I have no idea who set the RRP for the UK (Blaze?), but it seems to me that the UK buyer will already be paying a super inflated price from the get-go! All in (in...

Re: The Game Gadget

The deafening silence from Game Gadget HQ is over apparently. From an article at eurogamer.net here are the headlines (direct from an anonymous GameGadget insider): New Game Gadget hardware is on the horizon... the imminent horizon! On Nov 14th Game Gadget v1.1 (yup, you read right!) launches for th...

Re: SNK Handheld

Yeah thats a bit steeper than i thought it would be. I was thinking maybe £130 - £150 ish. Will have to see what Play & Amazon come up with. There are a number of press releases out there now. One states: The NEOGEO X GOLD Limited Edition will be initially available for pre-order from BLAZE's prefe...
