Re: Quake II Fully Ray Traced

Thats as Dosbox locks the frame rate via the CPU cycles. That's the whole point of Dosbox. To emulate a 486 PC, or slightly better.

Re: Favorite GBA game

Well compared to say Sega Megadrive, NES, Super Nintendo or N64 boxed complete games, I'd still call that cheap. For those I mentioned some games go for like $500. Conkers Bad Fur Day even just in cartridge form goes for a bit ($200+). Any RPG on the SNES complete usually goes for a fair bit.

Re: Quake II Fully Ray Traced

If you do go back and play Quake now, get Quakespasm. It fixes the daft implementation of mouselook and pushes the whole thing into hires. Last year I went and played through all of Quake 1 via a source port that I cant recall. Playing the game natively was impossible due to how the game was coded....

Re: Favorite GBA game

Be cheap-ish on Ebay wouldn't it? Last I checked, most GBA games don't go for much on there.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing Dark Cloud on PS2. Excellent game. I'm divided on whether it's the better game of between it and Dark Chronicle.

Re: Favorite GBA game

Not many, even though I adore the console (since it's an extension of the SNES in many ways). But of those I've played I enjoyed the most: Astro Boy - The Omega Factor Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow Castlevania - Circle of the Moon Castlevania - Harmony of Dissonance Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Ninj...

Re: Quake II Fully Ray Traced

Music wise there's no better than the Trent Reznor stuff. As for gameplay / graphics, Quake 1 had the whole Cthulhu type thing going, and the mish mash of medieval fantasy and futuristic tech for both the look of the levels + the enemies you'd encounter.

Re: Anybody here tried the PS3 emulator RPCS3?

No. I don't have either of those. Tested inFamous 1 & 2, Resistance 1, Red Dead Redemption. As of the last big update, apparently Rock Band runs perfect. You can even hook the peripherals up to your PC and play it authentic. That to me is awesome. Though to me, the ultimate guitar experience that ca...

Re: Anybody here tried the PS3 emulator RPCS3?

The emulation seems better than the PS2 emu PCSX2 That's going a bit too far. PCSX2 runs nearly every PS2 game, well (for the most part), where as RPCS3 only runs some games well. And even those that run well suffer from random crashes, and weird graphical issues. I've been following RPCS3 for a go...

And yet Quake 1 is the better game by far. Last outstanding game by id Software.

Currently playing Dawn of War - Dark Crusade. Easily one of the best WH40k games of all time. DoW 2 is pretty damn awesome as well.

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Finally beat Hollow Knight. Best Metroidvania I've ever played. It's hard for me to o say that too as Castlevania SOTN is one of my favorite games of all time, and that had better music.

Re: Master System must haves?

I'd argue that the SMS port of Double Dragon is the best of all the 8-bit versions.
