Re: The 80's arcade crash

The main effect of the 'crash' in the uk was that it saw the beginning of the end of the VCS (and some incredibly cheap carts) and the emergence of 8 bit computers. The VCS wasn't that popular in the UK, certainly not with my peer group. All i remember are the pong clones that were called "tv games...

Re: Megadrive : Castle of illusion

Its one of the best mega drive games, and certainly the best 16-bit disney game.

The graphics, sound and gameplay are all top notch.

I remember seeing it in Mean Machines, and knew i had to have it. Its a perfect game.

10/10

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I've never not purchased a home Nintendo console, but I'm out on this one.

Voice chat on your mobile phone? (This is utter utter madness)

Having to pay for the privilege?

Games over £50 ?

It's just not the device I'm looking for.

Re: Games that pushed hardware limits

Hello everyone! We're considering a new feature for the magazine, about games which pushed the limits of their host hardware. Which games come to mind when you think of pushing technical boundaries? (Oh, and try to make them fun ones too!) Please make sure that you do not include game cartridges th...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

In regards to the pro controller i was referring to the removable pads rather than the screen itself. Which i can totally see as being customisable with seperate attachments being made available in special editions. They have patented this already and there has been a fan made illustration of the p...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

People said the same about the Wii U, but it turned out to be fairly comfortable. Nintendo basically invented ergonomic control systems for gaming, so i am sure they know what they are doing. As you say, this isn't everything, Power has never won a console "war." While i am not saying the Switch wi...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

.....snipped out the waffling..... I don't get it, why are people like yourself and General Opulence on here, so passionately arguing against it when you clearly aren't interested in it, and clearly don't understand the reasons and drivers behind it? Time to get some hobbies perhaps? Have to love t...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Most of the younger members of my family only use tablets now and don't have laptops or PCs. They only want Facebook, Youtube, and Ebay. An all in one tablet that you can lie on the couch with to do that, and then plug into the stand to play games on the TV would interest them, in fact they have be...

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

Ive had a rift for a while now, held rift parties etc and the the moment the novelty is definitely worn OFF. I feel like those who are experiencing PSVR will go through the same stages i have done. Yes, when you first introduce it, it is fantastic. There is no experience like it. But when you get to...

Re: Console Wars Memories

In the UK there wasnt a console war, just like there wasnt a video game crash. The megadrive was the fist console released, in Jp in 1988. I was a person who imported one, loads of others did too and grey imports were covered very well in the UK video game media - you could buy one mail order very e...
