Re: Games that are better on inferior hardware
The first thing that sprang to my mind was Renegade on the Spectrum which was more fun to play than the arcade original.

Re: Games you remember, names you forgot.
I used to play a game in the arcades which i was adamant was called soldier of fortune. You could select which planet you started on-think there were 5 one definitely red and one blue. It was a side scroller where you could pick up different types of weapon. I searched for it online but ot brings u...

Re: Loom: WTF?
I've only ever played the Atari ST version of Loom. Found it quite endearing, if a little odd in its fantasy choices. Nice and short, not too difficult, with an engaging story. Not sure I'd want to replay it, I fear it would taint the memory. I played quite a few point n click adventures and this w...

Re: Loom: WTF?
I love the lucasart adventure games, but this one passed me by until just a few days ago, when I started playing it on WinUAE for Amiga. Not sure whether the Amiga or GOG version is best, which is EGA/VGA etc? Seems from the video clip, some people prefer the technically inferior but more nostalgic...

Re: Screenshot challenge.
It's Wild Cup Soccer on either the Amiga or CD32. Sequel to Brutal Football that like you say almost came out on the Megadrive (apparently a virtually complete prototype of it exists).

Re: Anyone else a fan of the Screamer series on PC
I bought Xpadder so I could play all keyboard games with a gamepad, easy to use and never regretted it for a moment.

Re: Anyone else a fan of the Screamer series on PC
For the first Screamer there are two exes's startl.exe and starth.exe
If your current setup is using starth then try startl as that will run it in a lower resolution, won't look as good but it should run a hell of a lot faster.

Re: Need help finding a 90's PC racing game
Not much info to go on, but I'll take a stab at Ultim@te Race Pro.
Better description of the game and of course the year would really help.

Re: Fighting Fantasy
Not got it yet, there were delays at the printers, Joe wrote several emails apologising profusely for the delays.
He should be collecting them from the printers today and worldwide dispatch of the pre-orders should start tomorrow.
