Re: Bit of retro arcade action

That is a very interesting story. I'd like to have a look around Copperfields place, I bet it is rather surreal. It would be awesome to encounter that machine, I think it should be in some form of museum rather than at a magicians mansion.

Re: 2011/12 Football Season chat (contains MOTD spoilers)

It was a bit of an odd move. Davies has consistently got you into the playoffs. Maybe they thought McClaren would have what it takes to push you on to the next level. Or he is just cheaper than Davies and will do exactly what the board want, as long as they give him a steady supply of umbrellas.

Re: Inhumanoids toy line from the 1980s

How much did these used to cost back in the day? I remember having one, but I canno remember the cost, I know it can't have been anywhere near 50quid, but they are massive so they must have still costed some dollar.

Re: Poll - Do you play new releases?

Yes, new releases are far too expensive for me as well. I also don't have too much time to get heavily involved in them, which is why I prefer older games as you are immediately released into the fun without all the faffing around new releases have at the begining.

Re: Ghetto blasters/Boom box

Taking the boombox down to the park in the summer time is such a good feeling. I love these things, I hadn't seen that online museum before, it is making me think of adding to my collection. I haven't seen any at car boot sales before, but if someone got one for 4 quid I am going to have to scout ab...

Re: John Woo films

Hard Boiled and early John Woo was excellent, but have a look at what he has done recently... From Face Off onwards it has been just terrible trite, which is no better than any Jerry Bruckheimer big-budget hollywood garbage. The pre-hollywood stuff was excellent though.

Re: Martial art movies

This film sounds vaguely familiar to me too. But, the main guy is like in his late teens right? (Or at least he is meant to be, if its 80's then he was probably in his early 30's playing an 18 year old).

Re: Rarest dvd's ever

I've got the Dutch DVD release of Twin Peaks with both series in the box set. That is pretty hard to find, I also have quite a few of those snapper dvd's but the only one of them I can remember right now is the 2nd disc of the first series of the Soprano's. Didn't get any of the other ones at the ti...

Re: Chillis / food

I went to a Turkish restaurant a few days ago for a halloumi, when asked if I wanted some chilli sauce I of course said, "well yes" and he put on a little bit and I dared him to keep putting more and more on he started to shake his head, I told him I could handle it. Needless to say, I could not han...

Re: Today

Today is Friday, therefore the best day of the week as I will not have to work for a few days. I can put on my new threads from http://www.zalando.co.uk and go into town and act like all the other revellers. Or I can invite my friends around and have a nice night in with the N64 and some pizzas. Lo...

Re: Documentaries

On the subject of documentaries about comedians, then maybe check out Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedian" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328962/ ). It is brilliant and really shows the ins and outs of life on the road, performing in little clubs and has some great conversations between some of America's mos...

Re: 2011/12 Football Season chat (contains MOTD spoilers)

I would like to propose an analogy for Arsene Wenger, it is a little bit left-field, but all football analogies are half-baked. It is September, a cold winter has been forecast, while also a heatwave for next summer has also been confirmed. Rather than Wenger going out to the shops and buying himse...

Re: Charity Shops

I find charity shops good for finding some nice clothes , or occasionally some decent vinyl and books. But very rarely do I find anything worthwhile in the gaming section. Although I think that is more down to where I live rather than the fact that they are charity shops. I think the only decent th...
