arcade bar coming soon

Hey peeps Tom & I from Retro Game Base in London are (fingers crossed) opening an arcade bar later this year, similar in style to the popular 'Barcade' over in the States. We finally found a location and are in the early stages of negotiation so I don't want to curse anything by giving away too much...

Re: New retro gaming store coming to London soon!!

Thanks to anyone from this board who made it down yesterday, it was great to see such fine support for our project and I think people were generally very appreciative of the time and effort that has gone into making this happen - as are we of their custom. I'll make this clear now though, we will no...

Re: New retro gaming store coming to London soon!!

[/quote] Don't want to sound like a cheapo, but do you not think that for an opening event £5 entry fee to a competition, where you could possibly have your ass kicked in 30 seconds, is a bit steep? Maybe children might come in with their parents and offer to pay for the child to have a go at the co...

Re: New retro gaming store coming to London soon!!

Currently we're looking to be open on the 23rd June. Worst case that gets pushed back a week but we'll know within a week whether we're on course. Arcade wise we will have an regularly-changing guest machine or two (we do a lot with arcade machines so have new things coming into our workshop - now t...

Re: New retro gaming store coming to London soon!!

The only way a niche business such as ours can survive on the high st is to have a successful mail order/ecomms business, which we already have up and running. We'd outgrown our homes/garages/etc and, with business units badly overpriced in London, it wasnt that much more to rent a shop so we decide...
