Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 206

I read the digital edition of issue 206 while I await the printed edition to arrive at my house after lockdown. The Impact of Half-Life : Must still read the article. Looks promising. The making of Grand Prix Simulator : Nothing special. Liked the article about Ant Attack and its sequels how they we...

Re: From the Forum - Issue 207: Lockdown gaming

I am playing Krisalis' Legends - a game that appeared in the Amiga's twilight years. The lockdown means I finally could spend time trying to get it to run in Amiga emulator WinUAE, something I previously did not have the time for. The configuration that did the trick for the game is an A1200 AGA-chi...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 205

Great issue this month as it features many games I played on the original machines back in the days. I especially appreciate this month's C64 Minority Report for featuring Aigina's Prophecy . I have been searching for this title for years! Originally I played the game when I was tinkering with C64 e...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 201

I really love the Fist II article. It exactly expresses how I felt when playing the game for the first time three decades ago. The freedom of wandering, desolate empty atmosphere and eerie soundtracks kept me coming back. The author is right saying the game was ahead of its time with some mechanics ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

What Remains of Edith Finch (read many good things about it) and Plague Tale: Innocence (story-driven puzzle-action game). Both for PS4.

Re: Amiga musicians/C64 musicians

I think the Amiga did not have many musicians who are widely-known to the public. My personal three are: Chris Huelsbeck: Also a great composer on the C64, Chris Huelsbeck's music really does shine on the Amiga. One does immediately recognise his style. His music for Turrican I-III , Quik and Silva ...

Re: Retro Gamer - issue 197

Nice issue. Though the articles about the more recent Retro games like Shenmue and The Sims are a nice, read, they are less interesting to me as I have never played them. I really like the feature about Amiga publisher Black Legend. They had the courage to produce original games in the Amiga's twilig...

Re: Rollerboard C64 archived

Rollerboard sure brings back some memories!
Back in the late Nineties I decided to collect every available C64-rom for my C64S emulator in MS DOS.
What immediately striked me was how rock-hard to play this KikStart is. Oh, and the music of course which is just magic.

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

I was an early adaptor of Playstation VR - I bought it in November 2016 the week it came out. It's been over a year since I last played PlayStation VR games. In the last few months my VR processor-unit got overheated all the time and I got thrown back to the PlayStation menu. Here is a list of VR-co...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 196

Time for some extensive feedback... 30 Years of the Gameboy : I must admit never played a Gameboy as I was a Atari Lynx fan. The GB never did get much coverage by RG so it is nice the article makes up for it. The Making of Firelord : Nice article about this little Sabre Wolf clone. I discovered this...

Re: Buying CD's

When I hear a song I like, I want to own it on a physical medium. So yeah, I still buy 10-16 CDs a year. I think the CD market is quickly dying. On average a new CD is out of stock within days after release (or available after a second repress weeks later) and friends of mine donate me their entire ...

Re: Movies that never got games

When I was really young I was impressed by Rambo First Blood: Part 2 on the C64, I wondered how the original Rambo would play. I hunted for that game for many years until The Internet told me it was never released. By the way, Suburban Commando was released on C64 and Amiga by Zeppelin: https://amig...

Re: Pandemonium! (PSOne/PC)

I had Pandemonium for Windows 95. The game was too demanding for my Pentium 90 so I had to play it in a small 320 * 200 window.
Cannot remember much of it, though.

Re: From The Forum issue 180 - Favourite Bitmap Brothers Game

I go for Magic Pockets. It is not the most refered Bitmap Brothers game but I like the crazy power-ups, cute baddies, the tricycle crash run and of course the Betty Boo soundtrack.

Re: Questions for Matt Gray

You did write the Intro and Outro music for Vendetta on the C64. Were you asked by System 3 to also write in-game music for this game? Do you know why in the end they chose in-game sound-effects by Maniacs of Noise?
