Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

I was an early adaptor of Playstation VR - I bought it in November 2016 the week it came out. It's been over a year since I last played PlayStation VR games. In the last few months my VR processor-unit got overheated all the time and I got thrown back to the PlayStation menu. Here is a list of VR-co...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 196

Time for some extensive feedback... 30 Years of the Gameboy : I must admit never played a Gameboy as I was a Atari Lynx fan. The GB never did get much coverage by RG so it is nice the article makes up for it. The Making of Firelord : Nice article about this little Sabre Wolf clone. I discovered this...

Re: Buying CD's

When I hear a song I like, I want to own it on a physical medium. So yeah, I still buy 10-16 CDs a year. I think the CD market is quickly dying. On average a new CD is out of stock within days after release (or available after a second repress weeks later) and friends of mine donate me their entire ...

Re: Movies that never got games

When I was really young I was impressed by Rambo First Blood: Part 2 on the C64, I wondered how the original Rambo would play. I hunted for that game for many years until The Internet told me it was never released. By the way, Suburban Commando was released on C64 and Amiga by Zeppelin: https://amig...

Re: Pandemonium! (PSOne/PC)

I had Pandemonium for Windows 95. The game was too demanding for my Pentium 90 so I had to play it in a small 320 * 200 window.
Cannot remember much of it, though.

Re: From The Forum issue 180 - Favourite Bitmap Brothers Game

I go for Magic Pockets. It is not the most refered Bitmap Brothers game but I like the crazy power-ups, cute baddies, the tricycle crash run and of course the Betty Boo soundtrack.

Re: Questions for Matt Gray

You did write the Intro and Outro music for Vendetta on the C64. Were you asked by System 3 to also write in-game music for this game? Do you know why in the end they chose in-game sound-effects by Maniacs of Noise?

Re: From The Forum issue 163 - Tomb Raider memories

Tomb Raider is sooo overrated. Yes, it is a pop culture phenomenon, but I think if you have not grown up playing one of the original games in the Nineties, from an objective point-of-view the series is just so-so. My PCs were always underpowered to run a Tomb Raider game. So the first one I had eve...

Feature on Virtual Reality efforts?

With Virtual Reality finally becoming affordable to consumers by way of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, wouldn't it be a good idea to look at VR efforts in the past 25+ years in cinema, games and hardware? My only experience with VR was in 1994 playing Dactyl Nightmare ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6...

Ninja Massacre on the C64. At the time I played this enjoyable little game a lot without knowing it was actually a clone of a certain game known as Gauntlet.

Re: From the forum issue 131 - Favourite FMV game

Star Trek: Borg of course! It plays like an interactive episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation with my favourite character, John de Lancie's Q, having more screen-time than in all seven seasons of ST:TNG.

Re: For the mag: Commodore 64 memories

Having proudly owned a VIC-20 for two years, in summer 1989 I had saved up enough pocketmoney to buy a secondhand C64 from an uncle of mine along with The Last Ninja on tape. Now I had played C64 games before but none of them were graphically and sonically as astonishing as this game. Within a few d...

MSX coverage

To me it appears the MSX never received as much attention in British magazines as other 8-bit machines. Having seen a couple of MSX-games on YouTube recently, I want to invest some time actually playing them. Are there any plans RG will do a MSX feature in the near future? E.g. which games are regar...

Re: From the forum issue 105

When I think of EA the only platformer ever created by Peter Molyneux' Bullfrog springs to mind: Flood . I remember playing the demo that came with an issue of CU Amiga magazine and was hugely impressed with it: Escape from caves that slowly flooded gets with water, fighting killer-teddies, using ov...

Re: VIC 20 - Best Games

Funny, I do not know the majority of the titles mentioned here. I was a kid when I played Vic20 games and still remember the more graphical advanced titles: Fast Eddie : Always have a soft spot for this ancient platform title. Video Mania :This game stands out because it has a titletune. Rat Hotel :...
